I must say the food here is pretty tasty and amazing. Ordering is done via a QR code that you scan, and login as a guest. I had the chicken stew omu rice ($13.9). The omelette was pretty buttery and light. The amount of salt in the stew was sufficient and made it for a great pairing with the rice. What blew me away were the chicken pieces which were tender and melted in my mouth. Would definitely recommend to come back.

Quite disappointing. All the things on menu look nice but among the 6 dishes we ordered only the Chawanmushi was good. Fried chicken tastes like wet dough. Souffle tastes like wet dough. Beef tastes like unseasoned wet dough. Parfait is just cream. And no free green tea! Every Japanese restaurant should offer free green tea(ｰ̀дｰ́)

Very lovely and cute egg themed decor, should have taken more pictures because the food was awesome. Affordable, served fast, and very tasty! Even the drinks were well done and packed with flavours. Highly recommended!!

Passed by this restaurant at VivoCity and was attracted by the colourful themed decoration and food. First thing I requested was to have the egg shaped cocoon seat, but unfortunately it was taken. Ordered two of their set lunch but I find that the food is on average standard. Have not tried their dessert which is on my next go-to list. However the whole place does gives me the Japanese vibes that I enjoyed having meal in.

The weekday oyakodon set lunch was great value for money. It came with a drink and a cheese cake. The portion was huge. Service was transactional. Staffs could be more proactive I guess.

If not for the great service, I would have given only 1 star. For some reason, the food quality today was sub-par by all means. Specifically, the beef hamburg was clearly overcooked, the beef cube rice was cold, and miso soup too salty. I may sound like I’m nitpicking but I’ve eaten at other Tamago outlets (specifically suntec city) which have delivered every time. Please look into the QC of the food. We love this place and don’t want it to be the last time we eat here.

Ever since learning of the Tamago-En chain of restaurants 1 year ago, have been wanting to head in to try. However, due to various situations, reasons and lockouts, the opportunity has not presented itself until now. Heading to basement 2 of Vivocity, Tamago-En is located just before the NTUC Fairprice Finest Supermarket. Had to wait for about 20mins for a table to become available. Service was pretty quick after being seated. The food here is pretty good casual dining Japanese food. Prices are affordable too. As the name of the shop alludes to, their speciality are egg (Tamago) based dishes. Love the Tamago Kake Gohan (TKG or Raw Egg on Hot Cooked Rice) on offer here as well as the Egg Skewers. The Chicken Nanban originated from Miyazaki prefecture in Kyushu, and is a variation of the Chicken Karaage but with a sweet and tangy sauce and the version here is pretty good. A great place for catching up or even a date night. LOL!
