My LG TV got the same problem with the other reviewer here. It started flickering so I was pleasantly surprised to see that his got fixed. Thus I contacted Mr Tan to look at my TV. I'm not sure if somehow Mr Tan is having a bad day or what not, but apparently he's not as friendly as what the other reviewer said. The moment he reached, he instructed me to wear my mask. I've no qualm in doing that. But the tone was very demanding. I then let that slide and he proceeded to "repair" my TV. It took him like about just barely 5 minutes to meddle with some wires and the flickering was gone. When I asked whats the problem.... he kept saying the panel is spoilt, and in his own words he said sounding frustrated, "the panel is spoilt. I told you already in the msg." But he did not even replace the panel. So I was very confused. If it is spoilt, it will need to be changed right? Or if he did something to make it ok again, I need to understand that. He still didn't tell me what seems to be the problem or he refuses to. I don't know which. But he was very offstandish and didn't want to say much to me. It costs $180 for that 5mins of meddling with i-dont-know-what. And less than mediocre customer service. So I'm knocking off 2 stars for that. If it flickers again, I am going to meddle with it myself. Sheesh. __________________________________________________ Reply to Mr Tan's response below: Yes it's just asking me to wear a mask. But the way you say it is really not polite. Furthermore I am in my own house, wearing a mask is not mandatory. But like I said, I am willing to let it slide. Yes, you did msg me and say you will try to do "something". But as a paying customer, I ought to know what is that "something" so I can understand and justify the payment. Is it loose connection? Is it something to do with the wiring? You did not explain that. In fact, you're very condescending when I asked. You kept saying it might be the spoilt panel, but of course, if the panel is spoilt, something must be done to the panel, correct? That's what I want to understand - what did you do to make it work again? I think this is a very reasonable question. And yes I would like to reiterate that you are very unfriendly. Your tone of voice, the way you phrase your reply and your body language are all not becoming towards a customer who has been nothing but polite to you.

My 3 year old LG 55in SmartTV started flickering vigorously suddenly. I called LG customer service and they quoted $120+ just for their technician to come and look at the TV. And on the phone diagnosed the problem to be a spoilt panel that will cost $800 to replace. Ridiculous! I went on YouTube to find out that apparently it was a very common issue with LG panel screens and definitely fixable quickly and inexpensively. No need to throw away the TV contributing to landfills with non-biodegradable thrash. Boo to LG Customer Support that functions more like a sales office making it sound like it's not worth repairing instead of supporting customers with a very frequent and expected fault with their TV (and who knows what other electronics) leaving customers to drop repair ideas, pointing out warranty expiry and therefore you might end up prematurely buying another new TV. ? So, Thank Goodness, I went on to do a Google search for a local TV repairman, that gave a few results one of whom was Mr. Tan. I called him, he understood, his rates were reasonable and he came the next day. Mr. Tan fixed the TV in 20 minutes at fraction of the cost all in a jiffy and its all zippy in the world again - - hopefully for another 3 years! Forget about LG customer support and don't bother with extended warranties. Breakdowns don't accommodate warranty schedules - ever! Better to call TV repair pro like Mr. Tan.

My LG TV was flickering with a burnt line across the screen. Mr Tan provided me with a reasonable quote and also advised that the burnt line is due to faulty panel which he can't fix. He solved the flickering issue after a few tests. Told me that he did a slight modification in order to fix the issue. No more flickering. Good service.
