Had fairly high expectations after looking at some of the glowing reviews by established food bloggers and have to say that this is an above average plate of hokkein prawn mee with a good touch of wok hei and a nicely balanced amount of saucinesss without being overly dry or wet. The chilli is a fantastic complement - tarty and spicy too cut through the richness of the noodles itself. Found that the unamni factor somewhat weak, hence the four star rating.

Fantastic fried Hokkien Mee. This is the wet and slurpy type. Ordered their large portion at$6.50. Three prawns, lots of sotong and pork belly. The fried lard is free flow and their chilli sauce goes well with the noodles. Eat it while it’s hot or it thickens quickly and loses some of its wok heat.

Creamy wet Hokkien mee with strong fragrant wok hei, fresh pork lard. However, sorely missing the prawn taste and beansprout, which is a pity. If they use stronger prawn stock, would have been better.

Shiok. Worth coming down for those west side people. Especially their satay. Chicken very tender and pork juicy tender normal. Their Hokkien mee got wok smell

Wet version with wok hei.. gravy was just nice not too prawn taste.! With the sour chilli, it taste gd for a Kopitiam standard. Satay only starts at 4pm. Pic shown is large size $6, small is $4.50 now.

You will like it if wok hey is everything to you, but to me it is still rather lacking in flavour when eating on site so I takeaway on second trying, giving it time for the stock to be fully infused into the noodle and the taste did greatly improved, at the expense of much diminished wok hei though. Price recently increased yet the ingredients were pathetic, the $6 portion only have 4 small prawns, some meat & egg shreds and that's it, no sotong at all.

You see how 'dirty' the noodles. Added 'Black burnt' ingredients. Wok not clean Very disappointed to taste after reading good reviews. $4.50 with 2 full prawns, some pork strips and sotongs.. Taste very average. Will not go back again.

The neighbourwok has recently relocated to new stall at Bukit Batok Blk 177. Made a trip to try out their signature Hokkien mee. However, I felt the wok hei was not so WoW as compared from what I tasted at previous stall. May be due to different wok different fire. Overall still a decent above average type of Hokkien Mee that I like. Their satay were delicious as well.
