Satay with bad attitude and sullen faces, from the old auntie and uncle to the rude Indon maid (the attitude problem seeps through and through). Don't bother asking questions -- they couldn't care less to answer. Saving grace is their satay is rather good and the satay sauce is good too.

The food from the hawker centre is good and cheap but in the evening I noticed that the food centre is like a ghost town, most of the stalls are closed, unlike lorong 8 food centre very lively and busy with cheap foods.

Lai Heng Economical mixed vegetables rice stall is the worse food which I ate. Firstly I saw staples on the fried chicken wing. Second I saw them cooking a big plate of vegetables in the night time while closing and keep it for tomorrow sale after opening in the morning. Third I saw them cooking chicken wings and one of the wings drop on the floor, while the cooker just pick it up and put back inside to cook again. This vegetables rice is totally unhygienic. ???

I patronise this stall at least once a week for the last few years. Of late, despite price increased to 70 cts per stick, the quality of pork satay has gone down. Meat no longer as tender as before, just lack the aroma & taste that makes you want to lift up another stick instantaneously even before swallowing the previous.

Good satay and Mee Siam. Unlike other places the meat had no charred parts and the individual sticks were cooked after order.
