True Fitness

Whenever True Fitness excitedly announce that they are renovating the gym, don't be excited. Renovation = DOWNSIZING to True Fitness. Suntec gym renovated (downsized) to Millenia, Novena renovated (downsized) from 3 floors to 2 and god knows what happened to Chevron house. The latest Novena gym was a huge disappointment, no more room for classes and cycling studio, and the bathrooms are even more pathetic than your public gymn bathroom - entire men's bathroom only has 4 square stools (1 foot x 1 foot) and no bench! It virtually impossible to change during peak hours and social distancing in the bathrooms.

My girlfriend called to cancel her gym membership, the operator already agreed and processed her cancellation. But the system still charged her debit card. She had to personally go down to the office after work to see the manager, so as to get refunded via cheque because the system charges money so fast that it can’t be reversed. Worst, after finally receiving the cheque and get refunded, a few months later, she gets charged again?!?!?! When she should have already terminated her membership long time ago. The reason given was that their system will automatically renew contract for 2nd year and not 3rd year onwards since they will adjust their price every 2 years. Now my girlfriend has to go down to this office again to see their manager and get refunded again via cheque, and wait for refund again?!?!?! It’s clear that this company has designed its system to scam your money in every chance they can. If you are careless and do not track your card bills, your money will be unknowingly taken by them despite their operator claim to have processed the cancellation for you. They blame their own system when this happens, Really?! Come on, stop giving irresponsible excuses. Look they aren’t even replying to their bad Google reviews for customer recovery, shows how much they really care about you. Please do not sign your Gym plan with True Fitness, unless you have lots of money to squander of course.

Trainer was hogging 3 machines at the same time for 1 client. Terrible service for normal gym users.

Used to be California Fitness. Bought over by True Fitness. Minor renovation done to make it more spacious but still can be crowded at night. The place is clean and generally well maintained. Personal training available. Find a suitable trainer by observation and qualification / background check.

Very bad customer service. I regret to sign up the personal training with them. They said can ask for extension when need to. When they asked you for signed up, want money from you. They no need documentation. When need to get extension before the expiry date, they give you all sorts of problems. Don’t ever sign up with them

The Manager Noor explained that the system wouldn’t allow him to charge me only for a month membership from 04 June as their billing cycle started on the 15th of each month. This meant that I would have to pay for more days than I would use the gym. As I did not want to pay for the gym when not using it, I couldn’t sign up. The Manager acknowledged the loss of the sale and so we didn’t continue the transaction. Their system is quite limiting and I can see how the previous reviews found this a barrier to joining the club. Three stars for the gym itself as it was a good setup - had enough equipment and wasn’t busy on a Saturday morning. Also for the True Fitness team as they did try to accommodate my request.

I had a 1yr contract of true fitness. They called me and asked me if i wanted to extend the contract. I clearly mentioned that i wanted to cancel the membership. There was no guide or explanation about how to cancel the membership. Now it expired alr but they are still charging me. Telling me that they are not going to refund for this and it goes to month-to-month contract automatically if i don’t email them to cancel the contract. It is very irresponsible that they don’t even inform me what to do and anyhow charge me. I’m so disappointed of their response and never going back to this gym. Please wake up. Don’t signup with this kind of irresponsible gym.

Been a member for many years. During circuit breaker period in 2020 they asked members to continue paying the monthly membership to help with their cash flow and I did. Fast forward 2022, I am medically certified not allowed to gym until after my operation, they would not allow me to freeze my membership. No compassion.
