β β β β β We ordered the poke bowl and paid about 15 dollars but it was outright inedible. The fish was tasteless and the rice was regular white rice. The rest of the toppings were okay because they were just shredded vegetables. The one star is for the staff, and the best part of the meal was leaving.

β β β β β The worst decision I made today is to have lunch at Umi sushi Mount Alvernia.
Order a ramen and found a piece of plastic roughly 5cm long and 2mm wide inside the soup. Brought the item to counter and the staff gave me a βnew bowlβ, old noodle with new soup, probably boiled together as the previous one with the plastic in.
I am a breastfeeding mother and I am really worried that I may have ingested plastic (thus causing harm to the baby thru my produce) becos the plastic surely doesnβt look like a complete piece! Decided to stop breastfeeding my baby from now on, thanks to the excellence service of Umi Sushi.
I noticed on Google review, that just two months ago another reviewer has encountered the same βplastic incident β at Mount Alvernia outlet! Well done management!

β β β β β A cheap fix for your sushi craving. The sushi does tend to get left on the shelf for Long hours depending on the sales volume of the day.
It looks appetising and is a decent enough fix. However, the food has tasted/looked off several times towards the shop closing hours.
I would suggest adding different flavours of sushi to entice more customers to buy.
But I will return as their food is 3 stars worth of tastiness!

β β β β β Just bought the Umi birthday Don set from this outlet today at 7.25pm, it was so disappointing because my Onsen egg was broken, there was insufficient sauce for both rice and the chicken and worse of all, the 'fresh greens' were definitely not fresh! The broccoli in particular tasted sour, and it wasn't the vinegar kind of sour, but the sourness that comes from food gone bad. As I stayed nearby, I returned to the outlet at around 9pm with my bento, to feedback to the staff at the outlet about the sour broccoli. The staff replied me that the sourness was probably came from the wafuku sauce added. I explained to the staff that it was only the broccoli that tasted sour and no other part of the bento, which would not be the case if the sauce was added to the bento. The staff took my bento over and looked at it for a good 2 seconds and then asked if I wanted him to throw it away, with no other follow up action like checking if the existing stock of vegetables did go bad. This is my first time trying the bento and it was definitely not worth my time, or any others for the matter!

β β β β β Grateful to Cecelia but left because of peer pressure. The kitchen is very unsafe both because the management does no business in improving safety and pricing of items sold . I judge the whole entity as a failure..well in disguise and in perceiving that the big boss is too arrogant and too flamboyant to the shareholders and only thinks highly of the brand which is not even original in Taste. Japanese people will tell you this whole set-up is corrupted to a certain extent and there is going to be a dispute soon from logistics down to distribution networks. In fact the NEA is going to task and remove the label from the kitchens of UMISUSHI. Appreciate your concerted effort in making the disorganisation review and help throw the disputed managers out to the public and private eateries for further questions.

β β β β β Visited the AMK hub branch on 5th March, 1:27pm bought the maki mix set that costs $8.20. Despite their sushi looking less appealing compared to other takeout sushi competitors around in the mall like Mr Sushi@ NTUC and Kuriyaβs, I still decided to give them the benefit of doubt and went ahead with my purchase. Upon consuming, I was appalled by the sourness of the chuka maki. I then sniffed and taste tested the rest of the set and realised they have all gone bad too. Sadly, the only ones that were still edible were the mini cucumber, tamogo + crab stick ones. The sushi rice were tad disappointing too, lacking in the vinegary touch that usual sushi should have. Service wise was fine but food quality could have been better.

β β β β β Located in B2 of AMK Hub where Fairprice is, just beside the Dessert shop.
Bought voucher from ShopBack. Service was ok and prompt, waiting time was okay.
But food is subpar. Ordered curry chicken katsu and gyu don.
Look at the gyu don rice that looks like mui fan or porridge. Totally wet from the sauce which is not to my preference. Note: I didn't mix the rice btw. I'm not sure if donburis are supposed to be this wet. Beef was average, not too chewy. Red ginger not sweet enough.
Not sure if it's just an outlet problem, but I might reconsider getting mains from here next time. Sushi for quick fixes are still average and sufficient.
