Ichiban Sushi (Ang Mo Kio) - 53 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3

I was here last Sunday evening with my hubby and a friend. The food was really good. We enjoyed it very much. The set meals are value for money and reasonably priced.Ordering is done through our own phone by scanning a QR code. We were given a seat in the middle of the restaurant but due to safe distancing, we has to sit all in a row rather than facing each other. Would have preferred to sit facing one another so that it is easier to chat. Fortunately I was able to switch my seat after the next table left. Date of review: 26 Sep 2021

This is still the Japanese restaurant I goto for good variety and good valued set meals. The negative point is that you have to wait a long while to be seated, probably becoz the food is great and value for money. Though I felt the staff should be more organised and alert, not to let some patrons laze in their seats for long time even after they have finished their food. The pork miso soup set has lots of vegetables, nice amount of pork and the soup base is tasty. The beef in the cheesy beef set, is tender and well seasoned; with the cheese elevating the tastiness.

oh .. great and yummy foods ?. salmon are fresh and juicy. foods portion just nice for sharing. serving staffs are helpful.

Came here on mother day. Full of ppl but Luckily we come earlier. The person who attend us is very good. Just like he is the only one who working like that. Give queue number. Call number, bring customer to table, help for any customer request and so on. Of course Other waiter and waitress is good also, Just lack of manpower on that day. Anyway thanks for the guy in front. U are the best. The food is very delicious. We tried the cold soba (i think this is how it call.) The teriyaki chicken set is yummy too. Will definitely come again. If u like sushi, there are so many choices. Suitable for ppl who love Japanese food.

Ichiban is not the cheapest dining option around, but it certainly delivers in the set menus in my opinion. Simple, casual setting over some delicious food, sounds good to me! Always a fan of their salmon don, will always request for an extra serving of sesame oil and chilli padi for that extra kick. Unagi is thick and lathered with sauce, accompanied with egg and rice. Soft shell crab is a hit as well, crispy and flavourful. Overall, always a great time dining at Ichiban! :)

Love the gyoza kimchi nabe, the soup which is a bit spicy and sour makes it a perfect match when you slurp it hot. The salmon teriyaki is juicy and it mix well with the tomato and cucumber. The lobster salad and ebi sushi is still my all time favourite with their generous wasabi serving.

Had a good dinner time with family here..? We were given a nice big booth seat at first, however due to my mum having some issues with her legs, she preferred chair seats... the manager gladly helped us with a change..? ? Manpuku Salmon Set... the set comes with soup, chawamushi, Idako, baked clams, main dish, rice and fruit ? . Idako was left out when served and came after my dad finished the set. That was a pretty big set. My dad enjoyed it!? Teppan Gyoza was good, very hot?! Its 5pcs per order So good that we repeated the item for round 2. ?Sushi and maki items were all good and fresh! ? I like the Mentai Ebi Fry Roll.? ?‍♀️Kids meal, gotten a Turbo Jet for my girl, she loves it. The set was filled with things that kids loved! She dont quite like the fried chicken pieces due to the sweet sauce. Portion abit too much for her cos she is small eater.... but yes, she is happy with the cute plane set!?‍♀️ ?Apple juice was served in quite a big glass. Value for money. ?Service was good, Manager Magaret was pleasant, helpful and full of patience.. another male manager in specs (didnt manage to get his name) was also pleasant and jovial.? Upon payment, I had problem with my membership log in, Manager Magaret was patience and nice to advice me on what to do. I was asked to check thru the items before paying.. BUT.... Jus realised when i am typing this review and looking at my receipt ?‍♀️ ~ my last order for ala carte Chawamushi was not served! ???. Total $138 for 3 adults and 2 kids. Wished i have more nice food pictures to show. Abit tough when dining with hungry kiddos.. ? Nice! Will recommend! ?

The waiting was very long, but the food was good. The salmons with the veg, seems like a balance diet with rice and soup with fruits too. Try to avoid meals times. Their staffs are friendly too. Business too good. Just imagine, queuing to make payment also waited about 15 min. A typical Saturday evening.
