β β β β β Had made an appointment with a Mr Chew for a comprehensive eye check and had to reschedule the timing again as he was supposedly not around during the initial appointment date. Was recommended by the staff at W Optics to better manage my double vision (diplopia).
On arrival, service was great and was greeted warmly by the staff. However, I was taken aback when I was told that I will be assessed by another optometrist (Tara), who is fantastic by the way. It was not what I was counselled on previously at W Optics who said that I will be assessed by Mr Chew and again informed by Videre's staff during the reschedulement. Nevertheless, I went ahead with an open mind.
Spent 2 hours having my eyes dutifully assessed by Tara, had no issues at all with her. Only noticed that they were also waiting for Mr Chew to return from someplace to complete the session. It took another 5-10minutes of waiting past the 1.5h mark of the session before he arrived. Tara had to discuss her findings with him separately upon his return as he was the only Senior optometrist qualified to diagnose my condition. He then had her return to check on a couple more things before coming over to check on my eyes again.
During his assessment, it felt like he was hastening the end of review and wasn't very invested in the consult. It also didn't feel like he was valuing my time as a client as he had rocked up late to a timing that I accomodating for him, and palmed off the conclusion of the session with Tara before promptly walking out of the store thereafter, which definitely didn't seem professional at all. I didn't feel like my questions were fully answered and wasn't given full assurance on his findings, until I had to ask Tara again - which she was able to provide professionally and assuringly with such empathy.
To conclude, my qualms about this visit was the experience I had from Mr Chew that struck a strong chord with me - namely the apparent lack of punctuality, overall professionalism and seemingly lack of investment in the consult.
I can only say that the overall satisfaction I got from my 2 hour long assessment and visit was saved by Tara who did an excellent job explaining and summarising her findings to me. Would definitely return again if I need fitting for regular glasses and be served by Tara again.

β β β β β I have been a long time customer of Mr Chew Wai Keong (Senior Optometrist at Videre Centrepoint) since I was in primary school. I got my first OK lens to correct myopia and astigmatism when I was 14, and am still happily using it today. At that time, my parents decided on OK lens for me because I played a lot of sports, and wanted a solution that could stabilise my vision from deteriorating further. I can confidently say that my myopia and astig did not worsen in the 18 years since I started using OK lens. Iβve also never experienced any issues relating to the lens.
Due to the nature of my job, I spend a lot of time in dry aircon environments in front of screens. My eyes tend to be dry as a result. I had mistaken dry eyes for tired eyes (Iβve been told dry eyes are often overlooked). As always, Mr Chew was thorough and used specialised machines to assess the extent of my dryness. He then offered very practical solutions to effectively address the dryness.
My experience with Mr Chew and his team has been consistently very positive. He is always thorough in his checks and also in explanations. Iβve never been pushed into buying unnecessary products nor services. I would highly recommend Videre Centrepoint to everyone seeking OK lens and solutions for dry eyes.

β β β β β I have worn Ortho-k night lenses for over 10 years now and my degree has barely increased. My eyesight is now stabilised and I am super happy with the results. Mr Chew has taught me how to maintain and wear my lens and was very professional and patient. I would strongly recommend ortho-k for anyone who wants to stabilise their eyesight! It is easy and convenient:)

β β β β β After getting the glasses I realise the lens needs rectification. The process of rectification took more then 10 days without news of collection. Service is good here but I'll say the waiting time is way too long.

β β β β β It has been a pleasant experience @ Videre with a positive outcome. My kid had a drastic deterioration of her myopia in 2020. We got her glasses, and tried to have myopia control with the advice of eye specialists. Atropine at low and subsequently higher concentrations did not work for her. At the same time, the side effects were significant and my kid became sensitive to bright light among others.
Finally put her on OrthoK in March this year after a thorough eye exam by Mr Chew from Videre. I cannot say for other centers offering the same service but Videre had been professional and yet friendly at the same time. The start of putting lenses for kids is definitely challenging but good to report that after a 9 month period, the results were amazing. There was a slight increase as monitored by Mr Chew but less than a quarter step.
Talking about Mr Chew, we are thankful that he's always there throughout this journey. Bug him alot at the start when we were trying to ascertain if the lenses worked for my kid. Then there was the complain of persistent dry eyes from her and we were fortunate with his help to solve that recurring issue. Something we learnt along the way: not all eye drops are created equal. I'm not going to name the brand but one reputable brand that we tried at the beginning had in their package insert disclaimers about "dry eyes" being the side effect. Shucks...

β β β β β I came across this optometry by chance. I was served by Tara on my first visit. Though I was there to just look for frames and did not purchase anything, Tara still attended to me for 3 hours and suggested frames based on my preferences. Given that Tara was so patient and not judgemental even though I did not purchase anything, I made an appointment with her on my second visit and purchased prescription glasses and contact lenses. She was very professional and patient and made many adjustments so that the prescription was comfortable for me. I had initially requested for digital lenses and she had spent time prescribing those lenses for me but even after I changed my mind and decided to go for the normal single stock lenses, her service was still the same - friendly and professional. I would strongly recommend Tara, go to her, her service is excellent. On a related note, this is an optometry so they actually check your eye health in detail, something that most opticians usually do not provide.
