The single hands down worst experience of my entire life in any retail shopfront ever. Upon entering, the shop attendant immediately asked if there was any vinyl we were looking for in particular. Now, while my friend and I own our own turntables and vinyl collections, we had just bought a few records prior to entering this shop that we had been eyeing, so there was nothing in particular that we were looking to buy. As such, we politely told him that we were just browsing. In response, he snarkily retorted "oh, so you're just here for an excursion". He then went on to add, "our store caters for collectors, if you know what I mean". Clearly, this guy was not running a business. In all honesty, I by no means have a huge collection at this point. I've collected vinyls for only 2 years and only have about 60-70 records collected thus far. I won't presume to label myself a collector, but even if I was, I would not step foot into this store, nor would I ever recommend anyone patronising such a presumptuous, parochial and narrow-minded business. Collectors decry the death of vinyls and lament the loss of accessible records in Singapore, but it's precisely such archaic attitudes that have resulted in the dwindling interests in vinyls in Singapore. A much better vinyl shop to visit would be retrophonics record, where the owners, especially HK, bother to understand the needs of their customers, and are happy to share their knowledge and help them get what they desire. Word of advice, if you wanted to be exclusive in who you do business with - don't open a brick and mortar storefront that is open to public. Run it out of the basement where you're living which is probably your mom's house.

The shop appears to pride itself in bringing in hard-to-find classics, which probably also explains why the chatty shop attendant had to be such a massive bellend. It was my virgin visit to the Adelphi & this shop caught my eye because I spotted some classics. While browsing, I had to attend to these questions: (1) Which brand of turntable do I own (2) When did I start "collecting" (3) How many records do I have (4) Which musicians do I usually listen to (only to be told that it does not "belong" in the genre) I also received snide remarks for my lack of musical knowledge, was told to "pick any album to be played on so I can hear how a good turntable sound like", that I "did not have to buy it, really" and that I was "in a rush" when I decided to leave. I visited other shops (e.g. Vinylkakis, Hear, Retrophonics, B-Side, Retrocrates, Roxy Disc House, Mosta, Curated) and always left feeling enriched or inspired by the conversation with the shop owners and/or attendants. Echoing another reviewer's experience, I left Vinylucky feeling unworthy of even stepping into the store. It is precisely this pompousness contributing to the loss of interests for the younger gen (or a rookie enthusiast like me) to start listening to music in this format, because we clearly knew nothing about its value & greatness.
