NOT RECOMMENDED. Spend your money elsewhere - my experience here has been quite a letdown so far! The level of service, experience and facilities aren't really the best value-for-money for a premium price ($200++ pm!!!!). This gym is tiny, and unless you book your classes wayyy in advance, (at least 4-7 days) its hard to get into the hot classes. Its also typical for a commercial gym like this to sell hard and promote their PT sessions, but aren't really keeping tabs of their existing members' experience and keeping them loyal & happy. I injured my leg and couldn't attend a spinning class - and for that I've been penalised with a 'strike' on their system, since I didn't see the need to visit a doctor over a sprained ankle. Yes, a medical report is required if you're 'bailing out' of class, and yes, even if it was a mild sickness. More than 3 strikes and you're locked out of the booking system. Cancel within an hour and it'd be 2 strikes. While it is a practical system, they should exercise some leniency on a case to case basis. Some empathy and trust will go a long way too - I consulted the general manager of this outlet for a resolution to this and his response was unhelpful and dismissive. He only managed an 'ultimatum' - turn up for class (yes with your bad ankle), or don't turn up at all but produce a medical certificate. Tad silly if you were to ask me. I am seriously having second thoughts on this gym now, so please consider it carefully. That said, I prefer the VA staff over at PLQ as they are more friendly too - if not for the proximity to work I'd definitely consider other outlets.

As a former member of Virgin Active, I highly caution anyone from joining this unscrupulous gym. When I joined there was only the Raffles Place outlet but I was told that a Tanjong Pagar branch would be opening in about 3-6 months but ended up being about 9 months. The pool was supposed to be opened together with the gym but got a further 2-3 months delay. The front of house staff would continually lie about the openings and would always say that they would be open in the β€œnext month” for many months on end. Joining their classes was also a hellish experience. Popular classes like hot yoga and vinyasa yoga for example, require you to register the same night or in the early hours of the next day to secure a spot. Then when you actually do, there is no organization and the members just lay their mats wherever they wish and if you don’t come early you wouldn’t even have a proper spot. Their billing system was also extremely buggy, with my charges often being incorrect or failing to be charged (in which case they call you multiple times a day) while I had no problems using my card elsewhere. Yet, that same diligence was never extended to when they increase your fees. They had never bothered to reach out to me to inform me that they would be increasing my dues after my contract was fulfilled (three times before I finally had enough and decided to leave). They claimed to have sent me an email each time (which probably ended up in my spam folder, where they rightfully belong anyway) when I had raised the issue to them, but not once did I see any of that diligence to actually contact me to ensure that I actually knew of the increases. Given, they might have all those fancy and fun facilities and features, but with how busy it always gets, you hardly would have the opportunity to enjoy it anyways. Off peak isn’t really an option either considering how short their operating hours each week are at most of their outlets. When they have so many members and so few clubs, you would think that they should keep their outlets open more right? Nope. All these issues combined with the little things like poor housekeeping, frequently damaged facilities, pathetic beverage offerings, unfriendly staff members, extremely uncomfortable workout shorts, worn out towels, etc, just sealed the deal for me to leave. To add insult to the injury, the welcome gifts I got were hideous pink low quality pleather duffle bag and shoe bag while soon after they started giving out sleek and handsome Under Armor ones instead. My whole experience with Virgin Active was one that left me feeling conned, harassed, and endlessly frustrated. Unless you want to feel that as well, I highly recommend you to search for other options.

I love the virgin gyms but this is by far the crappiest. (Not returning despite being closest to my house) First off let me just say the staff is still pretty awesome but the gym is not what's come to be expected from a virgin gym. It's ridiculously tiny. The equipment is all squeezed together like fitness first (if I wanted the prison experience I would have gone to fitness first. They have more convenient locations) The ceiling is really low. For taller folks this is an issue. Equipment and shower facilities alike. The towel is now changed to some Polyester material which doesn't do anything to dry the person. Very disappointed at the upper management who made some stupid call to save peanuts and kill the user experience.

This might be a compact gym with boutique sizing but the size is the charm... Plus being a gym workout only outlet post Covid-19, and with little crowd during the afternoon time, you can work out in peace safely (and no one fighting with you over the use of showers!).

My go-to gym. A bit crowded at times, but the classes are good and instructors are very welcoming. My favorite is Ken for HIIT.

This branch has the smallest space and least number & types of classes, making it the worst among the smaller branches. They even remove the yoga room to convert into running threadmill. Hence there is only one room left for pilates reformer and the other room for Bodypump. If you enjoy classes and want more varieties you have to travel to other branches. The branch manager should rethink how to make this branch unique on its own by introduce more interesting class. If can’t think out of box pls move to somewhere nearby with bigger space so you can introduce differentiated concept with other branches.
