Fitness First - Bugis Junction

Spacious and rather clean locker/ bath room. Missing a few important machines, e.g. leg curl, inclune bench for situp... okay maybe cz i noob.

Fitness First is a great fitness center. It's not the cheapest but it's mid-high priced. That said, they have great facilities and machines, as well as attire so you just need to bring shoes. To me it's good value. Too bad that now they start to charge separately for group classes so dropped one star for me.

Big nice but.... super too expensive for travellers' one or two day workout

I like this outlet a lot. The high ceiling makes it feel spacious, there's a nice range of equipment, and the changing rooms are clean and well maintained. Located in a nice central location and accessible via MRT through sheltered walkways.

Great fitness first branch. Not so big, but I love the layout here. The locker room is big, too bad this branch doesn’t have a pool. But other than that, this one is lovely and it has a perfect location

I'm not sure why the gym have such low review, maybe it's an old review. The current state of the gym is great, there are plenty of machine and free weight to use at this place. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The locker room is spacious and worth taking a look at if you are looking for a gym. It's pricey though I pay 170 SGD per month last time I checked my statement.

After I officially cancelled my membership ending on 30 June, and got email confirmation on the cancellation, an agent came over and said if I sign up for two more months, I can get 50% off the normal membership fee. I informed that I would leave Singapore and asked about July only, and he simply replied "ok". I assumed that he didn't bother renewing for one month for 82.5 SGD, as no email confirmation of a renewal, not even verbal confirmation from anyone followed -until I found the transaction of another month's fee in my bank statement. I asked them why I was charged while nobody informed me about the renewal, and they said I asked for it. I didn't use the gym after my assumed date of cancellation as I wasn't aware that they just renewed for another month, but they refuse to refund. I read other reviews and realized that I am not alone. But this made me think that consumer protection laws in Singapore are not adequate. That's why they can charge you like this without giving you enough notice, and maintain that they did nothing wrong. That's why these unscrupulous behaviours at gyms are never explicitly punished. For sure there are righteous people who do things the right way but the reputation of this industry is being constantly compromised by these behaviours. I am shocked that someone can charge from your debit card registered in their system just by saying an ambiguous "ok" on WhatsApp. Very disappointed with how these people do things and feel obliged to share this experience with anyone who are new to Fitness First (maybe other gyms in Singapore too), especially who are not familiar with all these discount tricks, so you can take the necessary caution.

Most of the equipment is old, rusty and tired. 3-4 machines ‘having a day off’ at the same day. Only 2 benches that you literally have to fight for (yes, I know - Covid… but still…) Leg press has been broken for more than a year, but nobody gives a toss (seat can no longer be adjusted). The lat pulldown machine is so old and rusty, it’s a joke for Singapore standarts. I feel that I should take my money somewhere else. I am not very demanding, but please fix and renew your equipment. And please do not blame it on Covid, as you are charging customers full price.
