New/old school hawker Centre with many famous and delicious food. Unique concept where its split across the road into 2 hawker centres. Super difficult to find parking here, but totally worth it for the wide variety of "branded" hawker food.

There is a wet market and two hawker centre... One more morning (next to wet market) and the other one more for night.. Lots of "fish steamboat" (鱼头炉）。 The one near wet market also have 鱼头炉 at night and last time I patronized, they even have Teochew delicacy （猪肉冻）which is hardly found...

This hawker centre has a number of good food stalls and can get crowded during peak hours for lunch and dinner. Car parking can also pose some problems. Three of the stalls that I particularly like are the duck rice facing the car park, the Chinese rojak facing the HDB shops and Rabiah Malay rice stall in the centre row near the Singapore Fried Hokkien Mee stall.

Though there are many stalls, more than half are inevitably closed . Long queues for the popular stalls and no seats available esp at peak times Carparking is hard. So despite the fact that the food is good value for money, often we baulk at going there

One of my go-to breakfast/lunch places with queue worthy selection of many local favorites. With my healthy appetite, usually a two portions stop for me. Mee siam, ban mien, lor mee, fishball noodle, fried carrot cake, nasi ayam goreng are my go to's. For drinks there is the original whampoa soya bean. And a drink's stall that serves a kumquat drink with dried orange peel. Served ice cold on a warm day... heavenly... Snack size choices include min jiang kueh or chinese pancakes (peanut, red bean, coconut), fried kuehs (turnip/chives/rice), tim sum, curry puffs. Others of mentioned kuay chup, chicken rice, prawn noodle. Do note that this covers the "morning" market (blk 91) which is located just beside the wet market.

I always cycle pass this stall in whampoa market, the old man always like to hang his stuffs in a very messy way. The main is the 五香。 I just happen to walk pass the stall.... Then I see the old couple sitting there.... 小弟，要不要吃？ OK lah.. then I ordered.... 云吞面。。。 Then I..... Went 加叉烧。。。 Then a while.. later.... 加云吞。。。 After...5 secs.. I think again.... 加五香。。。。 Then... The old man stopped.. then look at me.... 还有就是烧肉了。。 一起加吧。。你还要加，就有辣椒而已。。。 Hahaha..... Auntie still say.. 加烧肉，三块。。。。 But old man say her.. 加了这么多。 烧肉一块就好。。 Then next door drink stall... Man heard my order... Also ask me want drink or not.... So I order soya bean... Then he look at me... 加大?.. Then I say OK.... Then he... Look at me a while... 最后决定? 要不要加仙草?.. 再加甘蔗?加 加。 Hahaha... Cheap leh. So a plate.. Of wan tan mee, add char siew , add roast pork add Wu xiang... Only 5 bucks. Confirm can eat.. So while I que... Suddenly... Got que Liao... None stop.. Until now I eat finish.. now writing post... I still see old man.. cooking non-stop.... Maybe I Support old man..... I see him keep cooking... I am sadistic happy.. I see him keep sweating.... Auntie keep coming in and out of counter. Hahaha.. I wish they work until leg pain, back pain.

Grew up around the area. This place has a good wet and dry market. There are two cooked food areas too with lots of yummy foods. The stall I frequent most here is the Lor Mee.

Tried this, was good. But for $5 only had 3 tiny prawns. Quite ok. Chilli was spicy but not overwhelming. Good balance of flavours on the wet side ??
