Fried till crunchy at some parts, while the starchy parts remains soft and fragrance with oyster juice. Love it. Comparable standard to those famous stall, and surpassing most others, yet price remains one of the most affordable. Try it, you won't regret it.

The oyster cake is fried in a special way. Crispy and not soggy like other oyster cakes in restaurants and hawker centre. I understand that the recipe and style of cooking was inherited from the elder stall owner. My parents love it too since they first tried it more than 20 years ago!

This is definitely a fried oyster stall worth mentioning. This stall has caught my attention a few years ago by chance and today, I decided to patronize it again. When I was first introduced to Fried Oyster or Or Jian (蚝煎), I remembered I was still very young but in those day, the oysters are as small as a green pea. But I'll never forget the taste of the fried egg and battered; the crispness on the outside (not burned) and chewy in its heart. I'll also never forget the aroma of the fried eggs, it is so welcoming and enticing. Mr. Aw (胡) the owner has been in this business for more than 38 years. The skill and the trick of the trade has been handled down from his late father many years ago. Therefore, the standard and its taste has not changed all these years and he has managed to kept that original taste of a plate of Or Jian. The chilly is also authentic, the same soury taste and not too spicy that bites. It is just sufficient to tinkle my taste buds. Therefore, I awarded a 5 stars ratings of this stall.

Put off by the long queue and gruffy stall holder at the other end? This place can be just as good with almost no waiting time. But their oyster omelette is actually a better bet. Crispy and got plenty of wok-hei. Be prepared for the hefty cost. A $10 "big" order meant for two persons is actually enough for one not-so-hungry adults. Another problem is not knowing if the stall is open. My wife likes their "oo-luak" but a few times came only to find stall closed.

Getting from good to bad. Serving is half standard. The uncle basically don't care about you even when you stand there for few mins.

First look is pretty decent. Running your chopstick through the you'll find a 50/50 mix of the crispy charred bits and starchy gooey lumps that will equally satisfy lovers from both camps. On its own, this dish is barely passable. I personally find the dish lacking in frangrance and seasoning. Frying with pork lard, an extra splash of fish sauce and some additional cilantro will definitely help lift this up a notch. The chilli sauce recipe needs major tweaking too.

A decent plate of fried oysters from a stall that specialises in this dish. The eggs part of the dish is fried precisely to a crispy texture. Even for the smallest $3 plate, you get at least 3 juicy oysters. Overall, if I am craving for fried oysters, this would be my first choice around this area. For those budget conscious, I believe we cannot find fried oysters at this price anymore. The famous Newton stall starts at $8. Taste it before the price increases.
