Yong Kee Restaurant is the place is go for if you're a fan of chao ta crispy beehoon! They never fail to satisfy my cravings for a good zi char. A must have dish to accompany rice is the xiami naibai (xiao bio chye fried dry shrimp). Whilst the Indonesian Prawn Curry gravy was delicious (so good that I ate it drizzled over the beehoon), the quality of the prawns itself was not too good. Overall, I had a wonderful meal. Thanks chef! ?

Food is over rated. Pork knuckle and salad prawn, don't taste fresh. Feels like it's cooked. Left over. Recooked. Tasted terrible. The Chao tar bee hoon. Was average. Not recommended for the effort to find parking to eat here.

Food is normal. The hot plate tofu is very blend, need lot of improvement. Fried Kai Lan, so-so only. Fried claim & Prawn Paste wings are good. $40, reasonable?

Me think this is a very unique zi char dish in Jalan Besar neighbourhood: Chao Ta Bee Hoon/Savoury Pancake Bee Hoon. When the residents n foodies crave such dish, we will go to Shin Boon Hwa coffeeshop@Jln Besar (across the road from Jln Besar MRT station). Chao Ta Bee Hoon is delicious, full of wok hei, crispy, crunchy in your mouth and yet, you r also eating beautifully stir-fried beehoon (with ingredients. like taugay, fish cakes, pork lard cubes…). I think only a few zi char stalls, such as Yong Kee Seafood (inside Shin Boon Hwa coffeeshop@43 Jln Besar), offer such dish on their menu. Love Yong Kee’s team of hardworking staff.

Return to eat after 24 month’s pandemic, popular dish price and taste maintains. Good for open air makan session.

Came here especially for their Crispy Vermicelli after recommendation by a friend. Great texture and flavour, worth my trip ??

Kong Pau Chicken Cubes did not taste like it. not authentic nor even tasty to begin with. Hotplate tofu was slightly burnt and tofu looked old. Prawn “balls” still surprisingly came w shell and charged me 27 dollars for only 6 prawns. Rice was also hard. Totally horrible service attitude and taste.

Didn’t have to wait long on an early Sunday evening. There are tables in the coffeeshop or in the back alley. Parking is a pain in this neighbourhood though. The crispy bee hoon was really good, filled with seafood and fish cake underneath. The rest of the dishes were ok, nothing exceptional. I didn’t enjoy the spinach in soup dish. Too tough for my liking.
