One of the best tau suan I've had in a long time. It's not starchy like most of what you find now, very generous with beans, not too sweet.

Yummy dessert place at Beauty World Centre. Pulut Hitam is thick, not too sweet and really goes well with coconut cream. Will come back here to try other deserts next time.

Famous Tau Suan Stall from Albert Centre has a Second Outlet in Bukit Timah The auntie is very friendly and explained to me that her cooking style is nonya, which gives her desserts a uniquely different taste. Their Bubur Pulut Hitam is thick, full-bodied and creamy. They add a generous dollop of coconut milk, which lends an extra aroma to the rice. They have also added dried longan which gives a pleasant sweetness. The Bubur Terigu and Green Bean Soup are both cooked in coconut cream, which makes the desserts thick and creamy. Oh, and the desserts are not too sweet at all, very well balanced. Even though slightly pricier than other places, its well worth the money. I can feel the effort and love put into making them.

Still my fav place for Tau Suan! A bowl filled with generous Mung Beans that is not too mushy and not overly sweet, topped with crispy youtiao. Perfect ?? . If you have heard of the famous Albert Centre Tau Suan, they have opened another outlet in Beauty World Hawker Center. Zheng Xing Desserts has a limited menu with 4 items only and there are no cold items. has simply tell us how specialized they are. This is my comforting food, my childhood favourite and nowadays we cant really find the nice ones in the dessert stalls. Bubur Terigu has a strong scent of pandan and has a good consistency of its thickness. Likewise for Pulut Hitam which is also one of my favourite desserts, they have a sweet  and strong scent of pandan. I don't buy Green Bean soup as most of the time I had them from home cooked but when it comes to Zheng Xing Desserts, I had made an exception as they are popular for the bowl of Green Bean & Sago. Its not the usual beans with water but a bowl of  sweet smelling green bean with sago and coconut milk. Its not cloying and if you love your bowl of green bean soup to be a little starchy, this is your take. It tasted unusual but in a pleasant way, seems that there are some special ingredients used in their recipe. Finally manage to get hold of a bowl of Tau Suan after a few trips. A childhood's favourite hot dessert of mine especially with the generous amount of "you tiao" provided. The texture of the Mung Beans were good and had a good consistency without being diluted or starchy. Look at the beans, they are still in shape and not too mushy. The crispy fried fritters (aka You Tiao) had complemented the sticky texture of the Tau Suan. The desserts are so good and I find that sweetness level is of the right amount. I have made several trips as majority of the items were sold out when I'm there . Therefore, do be there earlier if you can to avoid disappointment

I have to caveat that I only tried one dessert and I love dou suan. This is undoubtably one of the best dou suan I had. Reason being that every mouthful is full of mung beans as compared to many other stalls where it is usually starch laden. The beans are soft with a crunch and yet not overly sweeten. Well, the icing on the cake is topping it off with lightly toasted you tiao. I can only say, try it to know it.
