Zing by Xi Yan - Park Place

Confirmed nice food and good service all the servers are very nice and polite. The food i saw a lot of nice reviews so won't further comment on that so far i have tried the 老鼠粉 with xo sauce not bad but i prefer the 雲南娘豆腐 they mix the meat with the doufu fry it and with their sauce is nice good mix. The other dish I like is the truffle roasted chicken. The truffle is drizzle on the roast chicken, and they added a mince meat dipping sauce that goes very well with the chicken must try.

Newly opened under Park Place residences condo. Pretty good Chinese food and spacious seating areas with both indoor and outdoor seats. Love their eggplant and abacus. Calamari is not that good though.

Kudos for hiring the handicapped. The food was good too. Enjoyed all except the truffle egg which was too salty. The seafood bee hoon was great. So were the cabbage and yam cubes.

Lovely salad bowls! Tried the kimchi bowl with pork strips and also the Zing Super Bowl. Kimchi bowl was really good, generous portion of kimchi and very tangy. Pork strips fantastically delicious! Ordered the Zing Super Bowl because I was craving the combination of salmon, avocado and leafy greens. To my annoyance, it came without avocado and no explanation was made until I asked a staff to come over to point out there was no avocado. The staff went to check with the chef in the kitchen and then came back to explain that their morning delivery of avocados was bad, all not ripe enough. So they gave me more leafy greens and a slightly larger portion of salmon. Erm. Shouldn't this missing avocado be made clear to me BEFORE you serve it? To check whether I would want to change my order? Also, I think the explanation that they gave me more of the other ingredients a bit iffy. How would I know whether they actually gave me more? Rather than just omitting the avocado? Why was I not informed about the lack of avocado BEFORE I ordered? And there was no service recovery attempted besides that half-hearted explanation. In any case, the bowl was tasty, the sweet minty sauce was amazing with salmon and greens. Good food but experience marred by the missing avocado and poor explanation.

Had a nice dinner here. Good service, comfortable environment and pleasant decor. Had a Thai salad, abacus seeds (suanpanzi 算盤子), braised pork (紅燒肉) and yong tau foo (釀豆腐). For drinks, we had kumquat since it's not something we see often elsewhere. All food and drinks were great, had a sense of home-cooked food which was tasty without being over-flavoured/too oily (油而不膩). Would love to go back and try their other dishes ?

Great happy hour deals with yummy bar bites. The service is friendly and accommodating. Outside seating is not that hot in the afternoon, because they have huge fans that keep you cool under the retractable awning. Excited to try the rest of the menu when I head back the next time.

Friendly service and very helpful staff. Enjoyed a weekend lunch, and the place is child friendly with good selection of dishes. The yum so o kung salad was refreshing with yuzu dressing that was not too sweet. Black truffle roast chicken was pleasant with nice crisp skin and the truffle flavour was infused in the roasted skin. Truffle fried rice was adequately done. Sichuan pork dumplings were alright and not too spicy. Hakka yong tau foo dry version with gravy was a dependable staple.

A very pleasant fusion Chinese restaurant offering a good selection of food. Some of the dishes are also pretty unique from your usual Chinese cuisine. I enjoyed the Hakka Abacus and Bossam Style Crispy Pork Strips (Korean style plating) very much. Great service and cozy seating area away from the bustle from the main building at PLQ. I think it’s a perfect place to bring extended families here to dine because of the space - kids once they are feeling edgy can always play in the playground outside.
