โ โ โ โ โ My colleague helped me to buy lunch from them one day and boy, was the meal filling! I opted for the curry chicken set with Japanese rice, and for the three side dishes, I picked curry potatoes and carrots, stir fried bean sprouts and steamed egg. The food was tasty and the serving size was reasonable. The price of $6 was definitely worth it.

Prices are considered steep considering the portion size.

โ โ โ โ โ Used to be representative of Hainanese Scissors Cut Curry Rice. The menu has changed, and it is sadly no longer recognisable to me. Really strange combos, something of a cross between economic rice, and low-cost Japanese bento, with taste to match. On the plus side, Staff are warm and friendly and polite, and prices reasonable. My take: Hong Seng's convenient location makes this an acceptable choice if you just want to get a quick bite only and really can't tell the difference. If you are looking for rollin' good food in the area, try Ajumma's 'like Grandma makes' Korean in Cathay Basement, or PU3 Nasi Padang (halal) along Bencoolen St, with free Teh Tarik Fridays. For a closer taste of 'old times' Hainanese Curry rice try any Encik Tan's outlet instead.

โ โ โ โ โ Introducing premium bowls at Hong Seng Curry Rice... I tried the salmon mentaiko don today. The mentaiko sauce was very generous but the egg yolk was a little over done. Didnโt expect the tofu to be one big chunk though. Overall it was a well deserving meal. Not sure why the salad base is no Long available, but you can still opt for brown rice for a healthier choice. Yumz. #burpple #letsguide

โ โ โ โ โ In my opinion, the best curry rice at a reasonably cheap price in Singapore.
I ordered a beef rendang with brown rice + any 3 sides (ikan bilis (their signature dish), braised egg and potato & carrot at 5.90sgd!
Yumz.
This store opened abt 4 years ago while I was schooling in SMU and the standard hasn't dropped since.
Good fix for curry cravers
