Ah Chiew Teochew Noodles- Katong

Chanced upon this stall inside a coffeeshop along katong road that sells Teochew noodle a few weeks ago. Came back again the other day to give this place a try. there wasn't any queue upon reaching but the guy in the stall was busy preparing the orders for takeaway. Over here, they sell quite a few variation of the Teochew Noodle, from homemade hergiao, seafood and scallop. A basic bowl of fishball noodle starts from SGD$4 onwards. Ordered their homemade Hergiao set which was SGD$6. it comes with quite alot of different ingredient. Apart from the usual fishball and fishcake, there is also the homemade hergiao, meatball as well as sliced abalone and minced meat. Noodle was nicely cooked and the sauce was well balanced. Overall, quite an above average bowl of noodle. Will definitely eat again if i am nearby and craving for a bowl.

Warmed by their amazing service. I had tripped and spilled my takeaway on the way out, and am incredibly grateful that they helped to repack and top-up my soup. Handmade Hergiao Set with meepok (6/10) Decent bowl of minced pork noodles. Their dry noodles are not the springy type, but on the softer side, but still firm. Coated with black sauce and fried onions. There were 2 slices of abalone. Admittedly, I spilled most of the soup and minced pork. My topped up soup had a white reddish base that was slightly sweet. Ingredients come with an assortment of lean minced pork, large slice of pork belly, balls and handmade fishcakes. What stood out was their fishcakes that were fragrant and spiced. The hergiao in mention has a smooth gelatinous skin, and definitely filled with well seasoned fish. It has a slight peppery kick from white pepper.
