★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the batang fish head soup for $5. The wine/ginger taste was too strong and the fish was small. The last time I got the $6 seafood soup, the ingredients were fresh but there were fishballs in it and only two slices of fish and one prawn. Fish roe is $2 extra.

Fresh fish, soup is very tasty , the fried fish is superb good, it manage to lock the taste of the fish in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fishes can’t lie, diners can easily discern fresh from not so fresh fish, especially when the fish is served in clear broth. I was very satisfied with the fish, not overly done, every slice was tender and sweet. On the day I was here, the boss proudly showed me a tub of roe. My heart beat quickens.. and my resistance crumbled.. this stall does not make the mistake of overcooking the roe till it’s hard, the boss/chef cooks the roe expertly. Soup has a smidge sour taste and pairs well with the chock full bowl of vegetables and tofu. I haven’t had a more satisfying bowl of fish soup in a long while.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a number either closed early for the evening or weren't open today. There are a couple of stalls selling fish soup. Randomly I ordered from this stall a bowl of grouper fish soup $8.
My oh my it was so good that I ordered a second bowl. Fish was very fresh and springy. Initially I thought minced pork was added buy after talking to the lady owner she explained is actually minced fish that were scrapped off from the bones. Added was fish skin that was fried. Cabbages and pak choy blend in flavourfully that lifts the taste to a whole new level.
Stall owner was very friendly and spoke in English well. Will be back to try the stir fried grouper that she confidently recommend me to try. If you are there, worth trying.
