★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My God this was an insanely good meal. The champagne makgeolli is a real treat and dangerously easy to drink. The food though. ? We especially loved the scallop with uni ice cream, galbi jim and the makgeolli panna cotta.
Service was really great and friendly. Would definitely come back. Prices are steeper than your average restaurant, but this is def not an average restaurant and is well worth the treat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice twist to the usual Korean feast in the Tanjong Pagar area (it’s becoming mini Korean town when it comes to food).
The Domi Carpacio was delightful both in colour and taste. A pleasant surprise to be served raw fish in a Korean restaurant.
The Sweet & Spicy Pollock tasted good although the favor was not unique. It reminded me of a good tze char fried 酸甜鱼. Goes well with the recommended wine.
The pork belly is well marinated and tender. The flavor is quite light (in a nice way) compared to other Asian pork belly dishes like Taiwanese 卤肉 and Cantonese 烧肉.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely modern Korean place with creative flair and trying their best to retain some of the essential flavors. Brings a new twist to each dish, all in all a fantastic experience instead of the usual traditional Korean fare. Tried the baby shrimp which was flavorsome but a tad too saltish. Also had the seafood pancake which was done ala rostti style. The beef was the highlight of the night and the panne cotta cheese with makkoli jelly sprinkled with popping candy was yummylicious! Worth a try!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place was nicely decorated and has a fantastic ambience, perfect for date nights! The food was of generous portions and we really enjoyed everything. Saw that the potato pancake was highly raved in reviews and decided to try it out. True to what some said, it was more of a rosti than what you would expect from a traditional Korean pancake. The ingredients were also sparse, could hardly notice the prawns that were supposedly in it, and for the price, I think the ingredients could have been more generous.
The bossam was delicious - tender and nicely grilled. It went well with the lettuce provided (so note they charge $3 for refill of lettuce…..). The festive special galbi was also cooked perfectly. Would have loved to have these two meat dishes with some rice but was told they didn’t serve any rice (or soup) on Christmas.
The menu is not very extensive so I don’t foresee this being a place you can come back to again and again, but if you haven’t been here, definitely do give it a try!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Contrary to many others who say the portion is smallish which is not or maybe I over ordered, was pretty stuffed from the food we ordered for 2 of us. Bossam the pork belly was highly priced at $50 but was well worth, flavorful tender with right proportion of meat/fat, abalone pasta was delicious as was the fish carpaccio. Can skip the cauliflower thingy which looks n tasted like sweet/sour pork. Don't really think the liquor matches the food that well though. Service was great. Can try.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Celebrated a friend’s birthday at this korean resturant located along Tras Street. Made dinner reservation for the 1st seating which allowed us to dine for 2 hours.
We ordered a total of 7 food items and their signature Champagne Makgeolli which was fizzy yet refreshing. In my opinion, the makgeolli went well with the dishes.
Most of the food tasted great, especially the braised pork belly! We also tried their special item of the day (octopus) with only limited servings and it was so chewy and fresh!
The only downside was that we are not allowed to bring in outside birthday cake for celebration and that we had to pay $3 for extra servings of lettuce for the pork belly.
The bill came up to a total of about $350++for 4 pax which was also on the slightly pricey end.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very popular Korean restaurant, could only get a reservation at 830pm. 6 out of the 7 dishes we ordered were really good. Creative takes on traditional Korean dishes. Something to note if you’re thinking of celebrating a birthday here. No outside food allowed, so couldn’t cut cake here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Anju is extremely popular during the weekend nights - we booked a table 1 month in advance and managed to get a 8.30pm slot for 2 on a Saturday evening. The Verdict: it is well worth the hype! The modern Korean cuisine is creative and beautifully plated. Do not miss the Cauliflower ($22, bearing similarities to sweet & sour pork but without the calories ?) and the Bossam ($50 and ideal for sharing).
The portions are ideal for smaller groups of up to 4 persons but they do cater for larger groups: There were 2 big groups of 8 celebrating their birthdays when I was there!
