ASTONS Steak & Salad @ The CentrePoint

First time having a try at this Aston's that comes with a buffet bar. Good spread of options. Salad items are fresh and hot foods are pretty good. Coffee was bland. Would also suggest for the one gentleman working in the kitchen (wearing green) to be more respectful and patient to the elderly lady who clears the plates. I was making tea and the elderly lady was kind to wait for me to be done before refilling the cups. There's no need to chide her for "taking her own sweet time" to do things.

The queue can get long at mealtimes. Order and pay up before you're seated. Rib-eye is alright, and that isn't butter in the baked potato. The salad bar has more soup, sides, salads, coffee/tea and soft serve, all of average quality. Here for the old Ponderosa/Sizzler vibe sans the potato jackets.

If you noticed… the salad bar alone is almost $20. So… when you order a main, the salad bar is not free, you’re basically paying for the salad bar and the difference is the price of the main you’ve just ordered. Looking at some other photos of the steaks that others order and compare it to mine… mine looks 1/3 or 1/2 the thickness at best. The searing was a joke. The seasoning was almost absent. Almost no pepper or salt. I tried to look for it at the counter but the shakers were empty. The mushroom sauce that came with the steak was tasteless too. The veggie salad was nice IMho but the rest was a joke. The pasta was not al dente… it was soften and uncooked pasta. There was one which looked like Aglio Olio but the staff drizzled some brown color sauce onto it. Now I’m not sure if that’s mushroom sauce for the pasta or was it really Aglio olio pasta. Fruits were either sour or tasteless. So don’t expect much. Soup was quite decent though. But overall… there are many western hawkers that serves much better western food where they are fruit stalls nearby. So… unless you’re really into greens… I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Went during weekday but no express lunch deals due to school holidays. Ended up with many fries and baked potatos. Still good though but just can't really finished it since there's still salad bar! Their pork chop has changed and we still prefer the older version one. Salad bar and drink bar still good, the same like usual. Love the ice cream with lotsa sprinkles! ?

Not much varieties for kids.. Disappointed that fries is not part of buffet... And no nuggets... Garlic bread is hard... Corn muffin is nice thou the corn inside is super hard... Worth for veggies lovers as their veggies is fresh... 3 soups, leek potato soup, clear veggies soup and broccoli soup... Oh my, all are veggies soup... No mushrooms soup...

Ordered ASTONS Chargrilled Chicken @ $22.90 that included free-flow salad bar varieties, soup, dessert, assorted fruits, hot and cold beverages. Very delicious?... yummy and worth to pay!! My friend and I were the 1st customers patronized about 5pm; enjoying ourselves with filled stomach and amongst the last few customers whom left the restaurant at its closing time of 10pm. Highly recommended dining place to go with your family too!??????

Good food but slow service. They raised their prices again recently to min 24.50 for main course. Grilled chicken is tasty but took 40+ minutes to serve. The queue at cashier/reception is very slow and the person is missing for some time during peak hour. Salad is fresh. Avoid peak hours for better dining experience
