Birdfolks | Fried Chicken

Quite quiet on a Sunday night, considering it's mother's day. Order two dishes to try: 1) Signature fried chicken thighs 2) Mentaiko fish burger Their signature fried chicken is extremely well done. Spiced batter that is SUPER crispy where their skin is fried with tons of crispy bites on top giving tones of crunch when you bite into it. The meat is well marinated as well, flavour is quite balanced when you eat it with their fried batter. The Thigh meat is also juicy and tender. A very well rounded fried chicken. They are quite generous with their portion as well, $14 for 3 big piece of fried chicken thigh, with generous amount of their oregano seasoned fries and a small side of salad. I do wish they had like various dips to go with their fried components since the 3 items on the plate are dry type. Maybe a spicy Asian style mayo/tartar dip? The mentaiko fish burger is very tasty as well. Thick fish patty with a torched mentaiko sauce over the meat. Mentaiko is not overly salty that it overwhelms you. Their brioche bun deserves a praise as well, crispy & buttery bun that taste good on its own. Meal comes with fries as well. A very nicely done burger as a whole. Birdfolks has a variety of items that I will come back to try. You should order their signature fried chicken as the batter is really very well done in my opinion.

Parking is easy. Plenty of lots during weekend dinner. Ordered tamago mentai (sushi) rice bowl, fried tenderthighs and chicken & pancakes. Both chicken meats were well marinated, just that a bit too salty for my preference. The combination of chicken and pancake was amazing. Fluffy soft light sweet (just right) pancake complemented the fried chicken well. Rice bowl was average though serving size was above average. Last but not least, the music they play was good. This place can be a good gathering place with friends enjoy the chicken.

Tries their Christmas set for two (swipe pics for menu) which is a 3 course meal for $49nett. Absolutely love the fried chicken and pancakes! The fried chicken is crispy, flavourful and tender. Pancakes kinda reminds me of hotcakes. So yummy. The mentaiko burger will be pleasing to mentaiko lovers. Love the salad too, well balanced amount of fresh veggies with sweetness of cranberry and scones. The food here is pretty good, chill place for a meal.

A gem in the west! Amazing fries chicken! The curly fries is very flavorful. The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Friendly boss who will introduce his signatures! Hope there will be more choices of special drinks. Will be there again!

Had a pretty enjoyable golden coloured dinner at the place. The service was quaint and homely, the chicken was skin-off-the-bone southern style. It's junk food but it does taste good, though perhaps it could be enhanced with food that doesn't look yellow/brown in colour.

I enjoyed having their fried chicken, it was crispy and juicy! Even their mentaiko salmon bowl was nice. I'm surprised that they serve nice food at that area. Quiet place and peaceful for a date too! Tried their Christmas menu, was good and affordable. They serve log cakes as well!

Quite a nice place for fried chicken. Juicy and crispy. Nothing Cheeky Sandwich was good. I liked the sourdough. Toasted to the right crunchy texture. Winglets with sweet spicy chilli was so-so. Pancake with fried chicken was yummy.

One of the best fried chicken meals you can get at this pricing! I love the garlic butter rice, it's a must get. All the portions are very generous too and it's hard to find an item that you don't like :) Will be back soon. Fried tender thighs + garlic butter rice combo was chef's kiss.
