Small food court with pretty limited food options. The tzechar is average at best.

Ordered tapioca leaves (non spicy), Thai style chicken, and pan fried slice fish with spring onions and ginger. First, they served the spicy version of the tapioca leaves, then realised it was meant for the next table; took it back and tried to give it to the next table diners, who protested cos we had already taken abit of the dish before realising it was spicy. Then the lettuce leaves from the Thai style chicken had ants crawling. They took back the plate but almost immediately brought it back so I think they simply removed the offending leaf. I suppose if I ate any ants I should consider it added protein. Only the fish went into the tummy without incident. That said, the food taste isn't too bad, hence the 3 stars.

The western food is not bad with a generous portion of fries and coleslaw given. Fish porridge was tasty but quite heavy on msg. Will try the fish and chips and Tze Char next time.

Coffee black is tasteless, even though ordered as Extra Thick without sugar, it just taste like cheap coffee from McDonald's. If they are interested in business survival, they should accept reviews and comments seriously, else they will be the next one to pack and go.

Yuan Ji chicken Rice stall serves really tasty variety of meat dishes, roast pork, roast/steam chicken, char siew and roast duck. They also have herbal soups on their menu and taste is very good. Definately worth eating here.

*Review is based on Yuan Ji Chicken Rice & Wanton Noodle (have not tried the other stalls at the coffee shop) A hidden gem in the estate of Canberra/Montreal. Ordered a plate of Wanton Noodle + Roast Pork $5 which was pretty good value. The noodles were springy, without the aftertaste of starchy egginess. The star of the dish for me was the meats. Char Siew was PROPERLY roasted with caramelisation (loved the burnt parts of the meat!) and the roast pork was crispy and flavourful. The noodles was also accompanied with generous portions of fried lard! Maybe that’s what makes the noodles so good. What was missing for me was the crunchiness in the wanton and a side of green chilli. I had initially wanted a plate of roast pork + char siew rice but they ran out of rice. The boss offered to get white rice from other stalls but I declined and chose to have the noodles instead. No regrets! Would come back here again to have the meats with the rice. ? This definitely deserves a go if you are in the area! ??
