Food: Perfect. Heartwarming good ole carrot cake. Been eating since a kid and quality nor quantity ever reduced.
Service: This uncle is v earnest and friendly.
Cost/Value for money: food is the best. I don't eat carrot cake anywhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ USP is that the CTK itself is chunky and somehow it’s fried in such a way that it inherently has better wok hei than any other CTK place I’ve tried so far. It’s not overly mushy and some chunks are actually crispy whilst others are softer so overall you get a very pleasant mixture of textures. The elderly uncle sells both black and white varieties so I’m glad I can get both for my family. This stall will definitely feature in my top 3 CTK places in SG.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chunky white carrot cake fried with generous servings of chye poh (radish). Its a skill to be able to cook chunky carrot cake that well - You have to be able to coat each pieces. This stall really delivers it well.

Serving for over 50 years, the brothers helming this stall used to make everything in-house, but have recently switched to a supplier, albeit one that still mills rice to make the cakes (instead of using rice flour).

Their version has slightly larger, chunky cubes of carrot cake, which has a nice springy soft moist texture.

Their black has a pronounced savoury salty eggy flavour which was alright but lacking that sweet edge. But I was more excited by their white, with its smoky savoury eggy sweet flavour, yum. Nice char to the edges too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Plain white old school carrot cake. Ideal for those who likes the salty fish sauce but not for those who prefer less salty. I like crispy carrot cake but I still appreciate the softness of this carrot cake. Option for dark carrot cake available too.
