One of the best fish soup I've had in Singapore! They're actually open at 10am instead of 11am. Highly recommend coming earlier to beat the queue, it can get pretty long 11.30 onwards (30-45 mins wait).

Was at Wei Xin Fish soup stall early at 11 am to beat lunchtime crowd! The "batang" fish slices were fresh, naturally sweet as in fresh fish sweetness and thick! Soup was clear devoid of msg, sugar or too much salt. Very tasty. I added chopped salted vegetables. Not salty as I can tell the salt in the salted veg was washed away and boiled maybe twice to remove the saltiness. Being greedy since the place is far from home, I added one dark sauce braised egg, taupok and taukua. In the neighbourhood right in the middle of a nearby playground stands a majestic tree with scattered red flowers on its very dried branches. Wonder what the name of such a beautiful tree is.

I ordered a $3 fish soup and rice takeaway, because the portion is small i asked for additional fish and rice. Lady charged me $5.70. I asked her again if she add fish for me before I left the stall. She told me irritably that she did. Guess what, there are only 3 to 4 slices of fish in the soup and the rice is their standard portion. Where did my $2 for the extra rice and fish go to?

Had a bowl of normal fish soup, rice and the Mei chye vegetable. Only $4.50 ridiculously cheap. Taste wasn't salty and soup was quite clear. Nothing fantastic on the overall flavour. Maybe will try the grouper fish next round.

Oh well saw this shops for several months always long Q, today managed to try at around 10 am plus, there was no Q so I quickly bought a bowl for myself batang slice fish soup ,to me is just so so but the fish is fresh. The fish soup cost me $5 and the vegetables kind of sad so little. Will I come back? Hmmmmm? guess NO Anyway all the best for this fish soup .

I love the fish soup here and I have it for lunch at least twice a week. Without saying the fish is fresh but I like the slightly thicker cuts they have which means a better bite. Many joints cut their fish so thin that they disintegrate when dipped in soy sauce. This is by far my favorite since I started my keto journey.

Didn't visit this fish soup stall for more than 2 years ago. The store opens at 8am instead of previous time at 11am. The pork trotters, braised eggs, Tau poke, salted veg where all sold out at 11:30am. The fish I ordered today is grouper soup with rice. It consist of 5 thick slices. Likely can't find another store with this price. Not sure how is the morning crowd is now at 8am. But I remember at 10:30am when they used to open at 11am, there were many old folks sitting around who had placed their orders much earlier. The store lady would remember each individual orders. The reason why the store owner sell at such affordable prices as there are many elderly folks staying in rental flats around Mt Merah View Mkt. IMO, it's like a social enterprise to give them value for money fish soup. They also sell batang, or fishhead soup. Will try to go earlier to get to eat the pork trotters and eggs.

The fish soup costs only $3 and contains generous amount of chunky fresh fish slices, vegetables and tofu. The braised pig trotter and tau pok were not bad too. Sellers are pleasant and e-payment was available.
