Nostalgic fried bee hoon and peanut porridge to kick start one's morning. Fast moving long queue for many breakfast seekers. Each dish is SGD$1.20, cheap and good.

They finally increase the price from $1 to $1.20. Brings back memories and childhood. The bee hoon and the porridge still taste exactly the same. It is well flavoured and very good comfort food. I am quite a high salt eater so for those who complains the food here is bland and can't taste the complexity, it will be recommended to check for Covid.

Sometimes, the most nonedescript of things leaves you with the deepest impressions. Call it kismet. I was wandering around Chinatown's food centre to look for some simple breakfast, and totally bedazzled by the array of food stalls there. Somehow, this plain stall with just 3 food items on the menu, but sports a long queue, drew me towards it. And it turned out to be a really pleasant surprise! What looked like an unspectacular bowl of porridge actually packs a punch of umami flavours that kept me asking for more - and I actually had a second filling. ? This yummy bonito and peanut porridge practically tastes like a really flavourful bowl of seafood soup with very fine and smooth rice gruel and übersoft peanuts. And its best friend: the equally delicious fried bee hoon. These are truly flavours that stood still in time, since my childhood. What probably also froze in time were the prices. I mean, how many places in Singapore can we expect to deliver such amazing flavours for a super affordable price of $1.20 each? It's great taste and value for money! Truly "economical" as the names of the food items suggest. No wonder this is one of the most popular food stalls in the food centre that consistently attracts a long line of elderly fans, who seem to be regular customers from the way they interacted with the boss. Two thumbs up! ??

Old school taste. So far eat a lot of economical beehoon but this stall taste most unique. Can’t find this taste and chilli at anywhere else. Porridge very old school got peanut and some kind of fish. $1.20 each. Portion good for breakfast. Cheaper than your cup of coffee at foodcourt. If want more beehoon then order large $1.70.

Saw a long queue at Chang Ji Gourmet and decided to try as Bee Hoon and Porridge are food I enjoy. Ordered their Bee Hoon and Porridge at $1.20 each. Both were very old school taste. Bee Hoon lacked flavor and porridge was watery. Didn’t enjoy the food and couldn’t corelate the queue and food quality. I may have missed something here.

Expect a long queue as this hawker stall is very popular. On the menu are only fried bee hoon, fried noodles (yellow noodles) and fish & peanuts porridge. The majority of the customers order a plate of fried bee hoon or noodles with bowl of Porridge as the portions are not big. However at $1.20 each, the cost of for both is only $2.40, which is very reasonable. It is the delicious "old school" flavor that keeps people coming back for more. Two thumbs ? ? up.
