Chindamani Indian Restaurant Pte Ltd - 108 Hougang Ave 1

Ordered a plate of Nasi Lemak $4.50. Absolutely different from the picture in the menu. Picture in the menu showed delicious sunny side up with huge chicken wing and cucumber. I just got a lot of white rice (not even coconut rice), tiny chicken wing and cold egg. The only saving grace is the Chili sauce. One of the worst Nasi lemak I ever ate.

Very good kosong roti prata ( pancake without any extras ). Fresh and ever crispy, every bite you can hear the crunch :-) The chicken curry is another excellent dish to complement the prata. Chicken boiled till it is tender to the bite. The ice coffee is good

One of our all-time-favourite Indian restaurant, with its flagship stall at Serangoon North made known for its delicious curry chicken with crispy prata! It was pretty tough trying to secure a table at the coffee shop after queuing up for the delicious curries. We are so happy to finally see its stand-alone restaurant at Lorong Ah Soo where it was able to cater to a wider variety of food and definitely a larger sitting capacity! And of course with safe distancing being observed at the restaurant given the covid19 restrictions. Because we are in a frenzy rush to reach home, we bought a takeaway of our favourite Masala Thosai and we were pleasantly surprised by neatly packed condiments (sauces) in generous portions. The food is really yummy and we hope to dine in one of these days again to enjoy the feisty environment at the restaurant! Update as of 12th December 2021: We finally had our first dine-in at the restaurant. Business was really good but we still managed to secure a table under the red tentage. It was breezy and airy and really clean because the staff had been clearing all the food debris & dishes once the customers leave. We ordered masala thosai, plain dosai, curry chicken bryani with a small plate of water gourd vegetables. And a cup of teh-o less sweet - which turned out to be very sweet. However the food was really good and freshly cooked! The bryani rice was really nicely fried with almonds, cashews and raisins. Their Curry chicken was my favourite and I would have preferred having a second serving of just the curry chicken as it really tasted yummy! The staff taking orders and serving us the food are really polite and they serve up our orders surprisingly fast and piping hot!! And the pricing given the food quality and service is really affordable and we would say cheaply priced. Highly recommended to dine in again! :) Update as of 1st February 2022: decided on having supper in the wee hours of the morning after prayers for this 1st day of CNY. We ordered my usual favourite chicken bryani & my hubby decided on a fried fish version which he rated as yummy & fresh. His fish bryani arrived piping hot straight from the frying pan of their kitchen. Even though the restaurant was observed to be exceptionally busy, their quality of food and level of service was never compromised - their staff extended themselves in approaching my hubby to apologise for making him wait for his fish bryani as they were in the midst of preparation. We weren't expecting such a personal touch to their service and was pleasantly surprised when they bothered to alert us for the unforseen delay in the serving of food. What a delightful visit it is for us all this CNY day 1 at their restaurant! Thumbs up from us again! We decided to add on paper dosai and WOW it was a huge serving as it was really crispy and really long in length (more than 30cm I reckon!!).

Patronized this restaurant today in the morning.Ordered the mutton Murtabak & Mee goreng. The service level leaves much room for improvement.The Murtabak was served first after much waiting although there was few than 6 customers in the shop.However, the Mee goreng dish had to be reminded twice to the staff. It was a long wait for the Mee goreng,I have almost finished the Murtabak when we were still waiting for the Mee goreng. I finally walked to the counter & found the Mee goreng was placed on top of another big pot,I guessed awaiting for the fried egg.The dish was disappointing.We struggled to try to finished it but could not.There is nothing to shout about for the Murtabak.

Had to wait 30mins for prata. Staff was ok, they saw us standing around and asked what we ordered. Noticed that they did not check vaccination status for those who dine in. No sanitizer provided too. The ppl like to sit outside, near the walkway but I prefer sitting inside where there is fan. Table is kept clean too, no sticky feeling. Payment method: paynow is accepted too

Passed by this place while cycling and decided to give it a try. Order prata kosong, prata with egg and thosai masala. The prata is crispy and hot when serve, which is definitely a plus point, the thosai similar is warm when serve too. The portion of the food is good and the serving is pretty fast for a Saturday morning. Will surely be one of the pit stop during cycling when pass by Hougang. The only feedback is that the cashier need to be more friendly and not just show face and quiet during the entire ordering process, service matters.

Christmas eve breakfast. Had 2x of their crispy prata plain. (No tepuk or slapping together to maintain it's crispness) the curry accompanying it was thick and full of spices, (unlike some places where their curry is a watered down dhall sauce full of mutton fat - babat) Ended my breakfast with a masala tosai, the potato filling was delicious and flavourful... Fast service, didn't have to wait like some prata places... prices are affordable. Can eat for sure!

This mamak place serves super crispy and thin prata. Awesome awesome prata with friendly and warm service! Their Nasi Briyani is quite good as well with long grain basmati rice, mutton curry is also very nice without it being too spicy or salty. The mutton cubes kinda melt in your mouth!
