Dr.W Family Clinic - 8 Empress Rd

CLARIFICATION: After receiving their response to this review I feel compelled to make my experience more clear. I was booked to see the Doctor this morning, however as I was showing flu like symptoms they requested me to do an ART test as they want to avoid having to scrub down their clinic if I was COVID positive, which I think is fair and was more than willing to do. However they kept insisting that ART test needs to be completed by THEIR clinic at the cost of nearly $50. As I know I can get a supervised ART test done via teleconsultation at $15 at home (where I obviously don’t have to risk them or the clinic to be “contaminated” if I was positive), I asked if this would be possible. They mentioned that this wouldn’t be allowed because ART test isn’t as reliable as a PCR test. When I contested why they then accept an ART test done at their clinic, she then quickly told me that I could do a teleconsultation at their clinic but at more than 4x the price than I could get at Raffles Medical. They also told me that they won’t trust or “know” that ART test done by a another clinic. When I told them that the result will be uploaded on my Trace Together, and that in my experience the result of the test is usually reflected in an hour in the app. They kept telling me that it won’t show up in less than 24 hrs hence pushing that if I want to be treated at their clinic that I should do it at theirs just in case I won’t get my results on time. It was just so clear to me that all they care about was to profiteer from these tests, because why do they want to risk doing tests at THEIR clinic when first of all you didn’t want to see me in the first place? SO, yes. I did not end up seeing you because I don’t want to support such a dishonest clinic who only wants to profiteer from their patient. In the end I went to a different clinic that was super hassle free, trusted my ART tests, and got the meds I need to recover. Original Review: Won’t trust my own ART test, won’t trust teleconsulation ART tests. Only seems to be profiteering from conducting in clinic ART tests to see the Doctor. Don’t be fooled by the 5 star reviews like I did, make sure you read the one star reviews (and there are quite a few!) before you decide to visit this clinic.

I wish I could give this place negative starts. It says it opens at 8AM. I went there at 8:30AM and the Dr. was not there. The nurse told me the Dr. was stuck in traffic and would arrive in 5 minutes. I waited until 9AM, still no Dr. I asked the nurse to check again and this time she said the Dr. said she couldn't make it this morning! Based on other reviews, this is NOT a standalone event. Please avoid this clinic. BTW, the fact that there was no one in this clinic 30 min past it's opening time is a warning sign. Especially the other Dr. next door has a long time of people waiting. Go to Dr. Yap even if there's a line. It's worth the wait!

Very happy that Dr Winnie managed to solve my tinnitus ! Have been going to see several specialists over the years, but the problem never went away. Her consult was longer and more thorough compared to other doctors too

Since arriving in Singapore almost one year ago, I have used Dr Winnie as my GP. Dr Winnie is a fantastic GP, who considers each patient`s circumstances holistically and provides the necessary medical treatment as well as dealing with environmental factors which might be having an affect on ones mental and physical wellbeing. Dr Winnie truly listens to me and cares about my wellbeing. Thanks Dr Winnie for taking the time to listen to me and provide me with treatment that has changed my life for the good. It has taken me years to find such a kind and caring doctor. Thank you!

I returned to Singapore for a holiday and had to see Dr Winnie for an ear problem. I was so grateful to be able to make an appointment with her and see her on such short notice. She took incredible care with my health issue and went above and beyond to provide care in her warm, compassionate way. I owe her my comfort for the rest of my trip. Thank you Dr Winnie!
