β β β β β Food was good, the star of the show being the Ugly Cabbage! We enjoyed the Hainanese satay
which has the accompanying pineapple dip, prawn cake was good indeed .The crispy hor fun- you need to eat it quickly, else crispy bits becomes leathery. The sauce was delicious. Service is brisk, staff a lot friendlier when you speak in Mandarin/Cantonese.

β β β β β Yummy food and great service - star of the night was the chili prawns (prawns in chili crab sauce) + the mantou. Super yummy w a slight spicy kick. The prawns were big! The satay was well marinated and was a good start to our meal. The cabbage looked unassuming but was actually pretty bomb! The pork w the beehoon was super tender and I couldnβt stop reaching for more. We also had the salt baked barramundi?!?! Which had no business being so good. It was well cooked and super huge (they also told us it was farmed locally). The desserts were amazing too - totally recommend the popiahgarden which was three scoops of ice cream (w locally inspired flavours) in popiah skin & sprinkled w peanuts. 10/10 reco.

β β β β β First time here. We had the Sui Bian Set for 2 as we wanna try many dishes. The Chicken Satay was pretty good. Fish Maw Salad and Prawn Patties were decent. Chef Joelβs bbq Pork Cheek and Fish Soup pretty good. The Chilli Prawns was like a mild version of our popular chilli crab sauce, served with fried man tou. I wished the sauce was more flavorful. The Te Kah Bee Hoon had a lot of wok hei damn shiok. Finally the Orh Ni dessert shiok. Love the ambience and service. Nice place for a family meal or date with friends.

β β β β β The seating timing was largely split into 530pm and 730pm. Staff was friendly though order was made via link. Foie gras with truffled sous vide eggs were great. Foie gras was cooked to perfection. Truffle aroma was evident and mixed with eggs added another dimension. Crispy fish maw salad was unique, flavor reminiscent of Thai or Vietnam salad and nothing resemblances that of SG food. Grandma te kah bee hoon was good but nothing outstanding. Black angus beef tenderloin with foie gras was excellent. The doneness of two distinct main ingredients were perfect. Chef Joel bbq pork cheek was full of flavor and the meat was tender. Ugly cabbage in fish sauce tasted average but could tell there was wok hei. Salt baked whole barramundi was good, fresh and natural flavor came through very well. Both orh ni and ice cream desserts were above average.

β β β β β Been wanting to try @enjoyeatinghouse and finally making my way to their outlet at Stevens Road. Stepping in is like travelling back to the 80s 90s old Singapore eating house and it feels incredibly cosy with the staff so friendly introducing me their signature dishes with their thick calendar-inspired menu.
What I tried,
Grandmaβs βTe Kahβ Bee Hoon.
Slurpy worthy vermicelli that is so well infused with flavour and strong wok hei. The braised pork trotters so soft, it simply fall apart in my mouth and the tender jiggly fat layer just melt in my mouth. A marvellous bowl!
Singapore Style Chilli Prawns (add on mini mantous).
I like how these fresh huge juicy prawns are partially deshelled to make consuming it even easier. And the prawns here are really plump, meaty and succulent sweet. The sauce has the perfect harmony of eggy, sweet, tangy and spicy that goes very well with the fried mantou. The mantou are fried till perfection, achieving the golden standard of crispy outer and fluffy inner that make me can't stop mopping up all that glorious sauce with it.
Ugly Cabbage in Fish Sauce.
Looking deceptively unassuming but each bite was crunchy crisp, slightly sweet and full of fragrance from the garlic and fish sauce with a strong wok hei. Simple yet a comforting dish that is done so so well.
Hainanese Chicken Satay.
Sweet savoury, well marinated and grilled. Love how chunky and tender juicy the chicken is and flavourful on its own. Sprinkled with chopped peanuts and served with a side of sweet, spicy, sour, crunchy achar. And not forgetting the satay sauce that comes with grated pineapple for a dip to give extra dimension.
I left feeling very satisfied. @enjoyeatinghouse has certainly live up its name in terms of the quality of food and the very affordable price points. Service also commendable. I would definitely be back again to try out the other dishes on the menu

β β β β β Singapore Style Chilli Prawns ($22)
This sauce is reminiscent of Chilli Crab Sauce, and is slightly sweet with a bit of spice kick! The sauce was also pretty viscous, and I enjoyed pairing it w the fried Mantous (50Β’ each)!
Hainanese Chicken Satay ($10)
Five skewers of Chicken Satay served in a thick concoction of pineapple and peanut dipping sauce - altho we ate it cold, but it was really v flavourful and the meat wasn't dry or tough at all! Can't really taste pineapple in the sauce, but the peanut was certainly good, and pairs well w the satay.
Ugly Cabbage in Fish Sauce ($13)
It does look unassuming, but the wok-hei is definitely there! Fish sauce is also slightly sweet, but I really enjoyed this veg, and would probably be one of their must-orders if you are there!
Grandma's Te Kah Beehoon ($14 - S)
Braised pig trotter wok-fried with rice vermicelli. This is another must-try here, the wokhei is really strong and the noodles are so flavourful! It's also slightly sweet here from the sauce, but I still really enioyed the dish!
Salt-baked Whole Barramundi
A whole fish that is pretty fresh, and goes well with their 3 sauces that's provided - Thai Green Chilli, Squid Ink Cincalok and Salsa (my favourite sauce of the 3)!
Popiah Garden ($14)
No regrets trying their Popiah Garden! This came with 3 scoops of gelato - Blue Pea Pandan Lemongrass, Seasalt Horlicks, and Soursop. Seasalt Horlicks was definitely my favourite, with it being super malty and that touch of seasalt made it soo good and addictive. Would totally buy a pint home ahhaa. The soursop was also really refreshing, and great for those who love Soursop! Was also surprised to enjoy the Blue Pea one too - had a good pandan fragrance, and was really great as an end to our meal!

β β β β β Multi sensory experience in this restaurant where the vibe feels like the good old times. Chef's take on local delicacies are extremely intricate and while some of them look peculiar, the distinct taste of each ingredient felt like they were dancing in harmony on my tongue. Total enjoyment!

β β β β β Definitely an enjoyable experience dining here, from the decor to the food. The duck noodles are the bomb and hit all the right notes. I like the satay too although is more like deep fried satay than grilled over charcoal, satay sauce went really well with it. Also ordered the ugly cabbage, but nothing ugly about it - tasted soooo good. BBQ pork ribs is off the bone soft, tangy and juicy.
The only thing I wonβt recommend you order is the white soup. It was too salty, like a miso soup gone wrong. We complained as we ordered 4 individual bowls that none of us can finish but they gave us a small discount to compensate.
