1st time there. Went there with an old time friend aka ex-colleague. We had 1 normal and 1 Premium Omakase. Thank you, Michael, for your hospitality. Pardon me....for not able to remember the name of each dish ? Will return for the Shabu Shabu, which must be pre-ordered.

Wide selection of beef. The olive one especially has a unique taste. The sukiyaki is delicious. Tasteful decor and friendly atmosphere.

Have been to many places serving good beef, Gyu Bar β€˜s beef certainly up till standard, the price is on the super high side, not really worth the value. Their service is not too bad, ambience is acceptable.

price is reasonable for the food we’re getting. however, it doesn’t have the β€œwow” factor that i was expecting. there are many other better options for omakase out there; with top quality ingredients.

Visited the restaurant on a Friday evening at their first seating which was at 6pm. I made a reservation for this place as my partner saw the video Ghib Ojisan had posted and we decided to dine here for our anniversary. The restaurant was a tad smaller than what I expected but the decor was classy and modern. We had the Matsu Omakase ($138). I requested for counter seats as with my previous experience with omakase, the chef would be the one serving the food. However it was not the case here, it seemed like the chef would prepare it and the manager or server would bring it out. Though they did explain the course to us, I would have preferred a more interactive experience between the diners and the chef for the omakase set. That is not to say the staff were not professional and unaware of what they were serving. Service was prompt, and friendly. The wagyu tartare was delicious, the beef was well seasoned and the uni was not fishy at all. Buttery and soft texture really melded the flavors together. The salad was tangy and whet our appetite for what was to follow. The cold appetizer consisted of lobster salad and a cold salad that I can't seem to recall was in it. The chawamushi stole my heart, the fragrance of the truffle and the softness of the egg custard was a perfect combination. The beef yakiniku wheezed by as we each ate 5 slices of beef cooked to our preferred doneness. Alongside it came salt, scallion/leek oil, soy sauce, wasabi and garlic chips. Each cut was recommended to go with each of the condiments provided. The perfectly marbled meat was so tender that it took no effort to chew. We saw the video from Ghib Ojisan and quoted them to get the free premium wagyu sushi. The next bowl served to us came with a raw yolk and shaved truffles. The silky yolk coated the beef slices and the smell of the truffles proved to be a star combo. Last course before dessert was their signature udon. Their udon had a great chewy texture, the soup was light and refreshing. To end of the meal, we were served vanilla ice cream and mochi. As they noted our anniversary, we received complimentary green tea ice cream. Nothing to shout about, other than the cute mochi that they made into a small orange. Perhaps I am a bigger eater, I felt like I was still a bit hungry at the end of the meal. A family of 3 who sat near us also came to realized they were hungry at the end of their omakase and ordered more. For the price point, the meal and service was great. A couple next to us has the yakiniku, might come back for that instead.

Had the $138++ omakase menu here for lunch. Generally speaking, we didn't feel it was worth the cost at all. The starters were lacklustre and there was nothing special about the yakiniku. The chawanmushi was good though. Would not recommend getting this.

Overall not recommendable if you’re expectation is high. Food wise is normal, air-con too cold and strong causes the food easily turn cold. Not worth the price paying. Not attractive to go back for a 2nd time. Service wise also soso only, not attentive to customer unless is big group. Manager and crew only interested in big group of people. Couple best not to dine in.

Good quality of beef served. The wagyu platter gives a good variety of beef cuts for tasting. You can request the chef to grill the meat if you do not want to bbq it youself. Pleasantly surprised that the beef in the Wagyu Uni don is pretty good too. Price is on the higher side. There are limited seating here. Tables are spread quite apart. Do make a reservation to avoid disappointment.
