The BJJ is awesome, Prof Muujig is one of the best sport coaches I’ve ever had and he motivates me to improve myself everyday. The class scheduling could be better but the motivation from Prof Muujig to get better at BJJ makes it a secondary issue!

I sign up a membership to Equalibrium a while ago and attended both muai thai and brazilian jiujitsu classes. I have never writen a bad review before but the service is atrocious! I give it two star because the staff are nice and good but besides this it is terrible... At first when I come for my Muai Thai free trial Coach Arjan was very nice and teached me the muay thai basics. Even though I learn before he correct my technique. When he hold pads it was very fun and nice. I watched the BJJ also and it looked very fun so I wanted to sign up for the membership. The front desk staff was friendly but the membership was very expensive so after some thinking I sign up. Now I think it was a bad mistake. The Muai Thai class is different from the trial class and I only know after I sign up!! The class does not have many padwork like other gyms only one short round... and Coach Arjan the head coach that teach me for trial keep holding pad for the same people every class, only hold one time for me so far. There are also good teachers like Coach Leo and Coach Micheal but they never hold pads in all the classes! Coach Leo is very nice also and he explain the technique when he hold pad and give good explanation. Coach Micheal is very patient when he hold pad and make it very fun and answer all my question. They make me improve my Muai Thai a lot and I always enjoy my padwork with them the problem is, there are other padholders (dont know his name but he is an older man) that hold very different and the padwork is different. How would I know when I sign up that Coach Arjan dont hold pad for me and my favourite coaches dont teach all class... Coach Leo never come for long time and Coach Micheal sometimes not teaching! On the booking app all the classes are under Coach Arjans name even when another coach is teaching on the afternoons... the coach also is not up to the other standards. On the booking app I also dont know when Coach Leo and Coach Micheal is coming. For the BJJ class it look very fun and I join few time but people use a lot of power when sparring so I dont go back. Coach Mujig is very gentle and show many interesting technique but people use strength on beginner but Coach Mujig never tell them to not so hard spar... After awhile they also change the timing! Sometime I cannot make the time for coming to class.. Muai Thai class sometimes do not have 6:30 anymore and I cannot train so waste I my money. Now also have so many people and very crowded. When I use the toilet first time... Oh My Goodness! I did not believe it is so dirty and smelly! The floor all wet. I still have abit membership left but I will not sign again unless the gym become better..

lol i read the other reviews posted by members and i share the same experiences. the new schedule change is spoiling the gym experience now you can only do one class and have to wait to do 2. the class is only good for the head coach and some assistant coaches if you get placed with a bad assistant coach the entire class is ruined, i think the other reviews named the good coaches. the padwork is also very short and after that the rest of the class is negligible. the bagwork is just repeating a combination without trainers to correct your technique. the rest of the class can be done anywhere else for a fraction of the price. some members are also really show-off lol. overall the gym is very overcrowded and understaffed. will not be signing again

Haha hello. I read a review just posted about equilibrium mma and I wanted to share some feedback about the muay thai classes too. I want to stay anonymous because I still have a membership and I paiseh hahahaha. Honestly I am doubtful about continuing my membership. Like the other review said the Muay Thai classes are very different from the trial class. I thought the trial class was good and it was worth the steep price point however the classes have become so packed and the schedule changes have made them so inconvenient. My trial class was very good where the head thai coach held pads for me for multiple rounds. I was observing the muay thai class going on in the back and at the time it was not very crowded (Maybe 10 people). After signing up I found out that we do not get much padwork unlike other gyms. The classes were also very packed and the gym recently made a schedule change that meant I count not train two classes back to back on any day unless I qualify for the sparring. The saving grace of the gym are the coaches. The head coach Ajarn is very good, the assistant coaches Leo, Micheal, Alex and a female coach whos name I'm unsure of are also very capable the coaches make the classes bearable. Other than the padwork, the rest of the class could be easily replicated elsewhere. Compared to other gyms, I believe the coaches I named above are way above average the market standard when it comes to their padholding skills and customer service while other coaches are around average . However, the rest of the class is usually very disappointing where members share bags, do boring drills without much supervision and correction. In the unlikely case the classes are not packed, the drills and bagwork become much more meaningful where coaches come and teach you different techniques and how to set them up properly. I remember a pleasant interaction with the thai Coach Laem teaching me many ways to counter a technique. There was also a time where coach Micheal and the female coach showed me various ways to set up another technique which will prepare me for sparring. The supervised drills are a huge improvement to the gym. The facilities are also subpar there is a sandbag that is extremely hard and I did not know before I kicked it. The new schedule change was by far the worst decision that turns me away from the gym. This increased the class size to a whopping 20 people, sometimes even more! This makes the understaffed gym unable to cope which shortens the padwork even further and make more room for the unsupervised boring drills and padwork. In the future although the good coaches I would be inclined to change gyms for a overall better and cheaper experience unless major changes take place. I gave this one star due to the gym not meeting my expectations for such a high price point and how the gym makes bad changes without receiving the feedback of members.

I have been training with the gym for close to 2 years. The Muay Thai classes are good so far. Head coach, Ajarn, and other coaches always do their best to make the class enjoyable despite being understaffed at times. The schedule change seemed to be a bad decision and I’m glad it has been reverted. If not for the choices, I guess I would have left as well.

I have trained in many MMA gyms in Singapore and can honestly say EQ is the best. Their personal approach to every student, dedication and passion for teaching and amazing attitude makes this gym truly stand-out in MMA scene of Singapore. And their brand new renovation of the whole gym (mats, shower and change rooms, free towel service) contributes to making this gym one stop place for all martial arts enthusiasts and practioners!
