You can give this a pass. Looks great, smells great but severely lacks in flavour. Perhaps the original shop at Siglap will be a better choice. Oh and the *Alkaline* taste was HORRIBLE! Extremely pronounced for some reason. The staff were exceptionally friendly though! That i love ?

The great flavor and the amount of seafood (not just fishcake) and lardons justify the higher prices compared to the other stalls. The chili is not the most spicy, but flavorful. The pork satay is nice, too. My wife has a new favorite Hokkien Mee stall at lagoon now!

Sorry no photo forget. No kidding! Got wok hei. The traditional hokkien Mee. Hard to find this taste these day. Supper yummy. Prawn fresh and big. Squid fresh. ?? Highly Recommend.

Do be prepared to wait a bit for your food, especially during dinner time at the weekend. We ordered their Fried Hokkien Mee (mid-sized serving) and felt that the portion was somewhat small for the price of $10. Taste wise, just so-so.

Well.. it's very competent.. it's more of the braised type than the fried ones with strong wok hei which I fancy (for example You Fu at Golden Mile food center). Because we had a table full of food.. we added the eggs from the fried oysters omelette to the Hokkien Mee and it upgraded the taste of BOTH (this is a note for myself ;)

Check my Instagram @nomninjas for more! … This street famous hokkien mee in the East - the 3rd generation of the hawker family opened at east coast lagoon✨they are famous for using charcoal fire?- smokiness goes into the wet unami hokkien Mee with squid ? and prawn ? for $6 it’s kinda expensive but when the portion came it’s like … can feed 2 sia? my buddy tried the original one before and said that the original has a stronger smoky taste ? but this pretty good already with more emphasis on the savory taste. The texture of the noodles are almost the same ✨

Charcoal Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles with Oysters. Did not realise that the Geylang 29 Charcoal Fried Hokkien Mee has another outlet in East Coast Lagoon Food Village. Taste wise, it seems to fall slightly below their OG outlet at East Coast Road.

Great, flavorful Hokkien Mee (wet kind). I added $3 oyster(had 4 in it). Pork belly satay had both fatty and lean meat, good combination :)
