Geylang Laksa Prawn Noodles (Sims Drive) - 45 Sims Dr

Heard alot about this stall inside one of the coffeeshop at sims avenue that sells laksa and prawn noodle. I was there around 9.30am and there was already a long queue. A bowl of laksa and prawn noodle start froms SGD$3.50 onwards. I queued for almost 15mins before it was my turn to order. I ordered laksa, the bowl of noodle came with ingredient like fishcake, prawns and cockles. Laksa gravy was light and lemak aroma. The gravy was also rich in flavour. Shared a table with someone whom was also eating from this stall. He highly recommended the prawn noodle and i would defineitely try it the next time round.

I have frequent this stall since pre-2000. Back then, they are still a single stall at the same coffee shop (current location). Stall owners were friendly, just like a typical neighbourhood stall offering both very credible Laksa (star dish) and prawn noodles (old school, yes... no big prawns or pork ribs, blah blah). My favourite Laksa dish! These days, they have upgraded to have a 2 stall space, just next to their previous stall (beside the kway chap stall). They have also upgraded their menu for Laksa and prawn noodles. They have also upgraded their prices (understandable). The Laksa gravy has been off their previous standards a bit but I still like it, being creamy, coconuty and even with the chilli paste, I could still finished the entire bowl leaving absolutely nothing behind. Just to mention the prawn noodles soup was also very good, for which I last tried many years ago. But these days, I don't get the neighbourhood feel or the regular customers' vibes from the owners... the other day, the owner said to me, "oh.. I didn't notice you came" haha... I was the only one in the queue at that moment.

Queue is constantly full. Very well supported by youngsters and elderly alike. The prawn noodles soup is superb. Laksa is fragrant and just right for breakfast. Would not be surprise if Michelin is awarded. Come early to over disappointment as it can sell out before noon.

With all the hype, decided to try today. Order a $5.50 bowl of beehoon mee pig tail n prawns soup. They only have thick beehoon. The broth is average at the start but as it get soaked with the pig tail, prawns n noodles, it gets much better. The pig tail is soft, tender n delicious. One of the best I have eaten in a prawn noodle stall. The prawns is about overcook as it was deshell. Overall, can eat but my favourite is still at TOA payoh lor 5.

Prawn noodles are pretty good. Bang for the buck. Soup filled with umami flavors. Definitely worth a try.

The laksa was really good. Lemak! Prawn mee was not too bad either. However, you would be spoilt for choices for good bowl of prawn noodles.

Came here 3 times and 2 times it was closed. Finally, got the chance to try their prawn noodle and laksa. The soup base for both prawn noodle and laksa are tasty but not too thick... It's nice!! There are 3 pricing; $3.50, $4.50 and $5.50. They only open for half a day till 1pm. Be prepared to queue as always have people queuing up.

Been longing to try this stall… finally got chance this morning - market next door closed for cleaning. Laksa broth creamy and fragrant, but lacking some umami. Likewise for prawn noodle - can do with more umami in the bowl. Not bad for a quick breakfast. Coffeeshop super busy, with non-stop queue for drinks.
