โ โ โ โ โ Nice location and looks like a place which serves high end peranakan food (true, look at the menu). Quite nicely placed in the quiet area of the funan mall; nice to have a chat with someone in.
Now about the food. Bearing in mind, my mother is from Sumatra and my father from Java so I am familiar with these type of food from the Indonesian view.
The food.. is not up to my expectation; I was disappointed. The beef rendang was like beef soup, the flavor wasnโt all the way into the beef - seems like it wasnโt marinated. Remember that thick coconut sauce in the rendang? Itโs just mostly dilute soup. We call this in Indonesia โsemurโ
The cap chye was mostly cabbage in plain soup, just like what you get when you buy ayam penyet in food court and you get that plain transparent soup with it. Quite bland..
The pineapple prawn was better than the rest but still - I think the restaurant has a problem with thickening itโs sauces - the sauce/ soup was mostly dilute. More flavor in this dish thou.
I would.. not come here again. I would not recommend this place. Service was just ok, not spectacular.
However I see the deserts seem good. Maybe better order the deserts if you plan to come here?

โ โ โ โ โ Pretty good and authentic cooking I must say. But better to choose dishes wisely, such as choosing meat instead of seafood dishes. Sides are really good tho, fish crackers n chix wings are must try!!

โ โ โ โ โ Managed to secure a seat on Saturday dinner for 5pax by walking in. Was placed outdoors but with the fans and portable aircon, it was honestly not too bad. Breezy. We ordered several dishes to try. Love the ayam buak keluak, Assam pork, and fish. Prawns I could do without. Shell stuck to the meat. Blue pea rice $1.50 for a bowl. Looks really nice but taste just like regular rice. Strangely the otah, which is the appetizer/starter, came last.

โ โ โ โ โ Unfortunately it was pretty off when we visited, however impressive were the many reviews different food platforms published. We didn't reserve and walked in, they do have a table for us. They have 2 pax set lunch menu meals which we felt were too heavy. Thus we went for the executive lunch set. Each set gets to choose a main, coloured rice (just colour and no butterfly pea flavour), chup chye (quite nice these) and stated home made sambal that we had to request for as the servers forgot. Same with our coffee add on which were forgotten and we had to request for 3 times. They were under staffed. Probably normal in these labour crunch extraordinary times but the most disappointing part of this lunch was the dry and tough rendang beef. Good portion but bland and very dry, very very rubbery, with no toasted coconut flavour to begin with. I was hosting and my lunch buddy were disappointed with the limited choices available. Hmm. Value probably on the lunch set for a quick lunch that's about it.

โ โ โ โ โ The food was nice but somehow not tasty.
Not salty.
We ordered a lot as u can see.
The seating timing is a bit rigid, 2nd seating at 8pm is a bit late for dinner.
Book early.

โ โ โ โ โ Food-wise, there were hits & misses. Didn't quite like the starters we ordered like the Fried chic wings & Ngoh Hiang. But the main dishes I love, especially the Sayur Lodeh & Assam Babi. The waiter who served us, Lester was great. Very attentive & accommodating.

โ โ โ โ โ Not a huge fan of the dishes especially when we have the luxury to eat peranakan dishes on big occasions with the family.
I would say that the dishes werent spicy enough.
-Ayam Buah Keluak (the nut is great, meaty inside. The sauce and chicken was a slight let down. Chicken overcooked and dry)
- Sayuer Lodeh (it is a good portion, but other than that it is normal)
- Ikan nannas (Pineapple Tangy sauce, it was sweet, lots of pineapple cubes, fish was alright and it had no bones)
- Otak Otak (chunky and generous filling lesser paste but nice ingredients. We like this)
- Chicken Wing (it is tiny skinny but the belachan mayo was sedap.)
- Rice is a big portion, the blue pea is additional happiness to us.
Sadly, we all agree we would not go back to eat it, as it didnt meet our expectations. But hey, try it, cos the brunch menu actually looks interesting. Was staring at the beef rendang with mash.

โ โ โ โ โ Superb food and service!! Crew is always attentive and ensure everyone is well taken care of despite the ever packed place.
Have known the head chef for a while and he's got peranakan roots that really gave him that edge in offering such quality and authentic peranakan food!
The desserts were innovative but not tacky at all. So nicely done and tasting so good!
Brought 2 groups of friends there and they love it.
Awesome job Fred & team!!
