Service feels rushed, staff did not explain products properly until prompted

very good customer service and i bought 2 sunglasses from them. they have a good variety of sunglasses also provides affordable price range.

I’ve been a casual customer at Grand Optical for about 2 years now but have recently been very unimpressed with how things are run there. Don’t get me wrong, their service is alright - the ladies are usually nice and they get glasses done quite efficiently. But recently I had kindly requested for them to state my degree on my receipt since I could claim it from my company, but they carelessly wrote down the year 2018 instead of 2019 (and it’s August). Only slightly bothered by it, I tried to submit my claim anyway given that my NETS receipt showed the actual date but was told it was not valid. So I went back to see if they could issue me another copy to which they said no, and asked for the old receipt back, which was already handed over to my company. I asked if they could bring up the carbon copy of the receipt (because I saw they had one previously) and they said they didn’t have a copy of my receipt (?!) and said the only way is to get back my old receipt and have it photocopied, then to change the date. I told them that that would breach my own company’s policy and I DEFINITELY wouldn’t be able to make the claim, but they were still stubborn about it. My receipt was $300+ by the way. I always get my contact lenses from there but I’m going to stop and find somewhere new.

Had a good experience here as the rubber balances on my spectacles fell off. When I was that, I saw a frame that I liked and made an additional pair of specs as back up. They then changed the rubber on my existing specs as a value added service.
