This was a lucky find for me. I was intrigued that there is still a hawker selling all cockles laksa even though the price of cockles had been going up in recent years. What used to be an affordable seafood is now a little taxing on most people's wallets. Thus, I decided to order a bowl to try. The picture on the menu showed around 8 to 10 cockles and we know how these are usually not a good representation. I got a shock when the stall owner started scooping the cockles. He just kept going and going and eventually stopped when the diameter of the bowl was filled with cockles. I reckon there were more than 20 of them. I enjoyed the laksa broth and the bee hoon and bean sprouts were cooked nicely. Will definitely return again for their laksa!

Worth the wait! Extra $2 gets you a really generous portion of plump cockles ? broth is thick and creamy. Super sinful! Uncle really puts his heart in cooking every bowl of laksa!

Although Havelock road food centre is not very big, but there are many nice food stall and this stall selling Laksa is definitely one of them. There was already a long queue when I reached the stall, after close to 15 to 20mins of waiting it was my turn to order. The Laksa starts from SGD$3 onwards, they also have the version with just cockles starting from SGD$4 onwards. Each bowl of Laksa comes with the standard ingredient of fishcake, tau pok and cockles, if I am not wrong, there is boiled egg if you order the SGD$4 onwards. Laksa gravy was flavourful, and I personally prefer this over the sungei road’s. unfortunately the gravy was a little too thin for my liking. Apart from that, it has to be one of my best laska I have tried.

I am a cockles lover and I like the ones here as they were all plump and in generous amount (I added $2 for extra portion). However, unlike what previous reviewers have described, I found the gravy not thick and fragrant enough. The other ingredients were also not outstanding (eg. taupoks were also not soft, fishcakes were normal, egg was overcooked). Uncle was pleasant and hygenic and accepted e-payment.

Very gao Laksa, can taste the haebe and spice. But the taste profile does not fit me. Its not the savoury kind of Laksa, it's more towards the sweet side. Very generous portion for 4 bucks.

I always eat healthy, but this is too good to miss! Scrumptious nice laksa that is prepared with such generosity. Nice peaceful eating areas. If you love cockles, they have laksa with JUST COCKLES! ? I’d travel from North to South just for the best laksa… now i’ve finally found another I’d highly recommend ❤️

Definitely one of the best laksa stalls in Singapore ?? Laksa portions are generous although wish we get more soup. The gravy is thick with strong prawn paste aroma. Prices have gone up from $3.00 to $3.50 for smallest bowl but still, highly recommended ?????? Go in the mornings otherwise come before 1130am on a weekday, expect queue times of up to 30-min on peak hours.

I thoroughly enjoy the laksa here. The laksa is creamy, the taste profile is very well built, and the proportion of noodles to ingredients is very well balanced. Well worth the trouble. The queue runs until uncle runs out of sauce, first come first served. Given the pace of people queuing during lunch times, they run out really early comparatively to the other stalls. One trouble you'll probably encounter is how uncle may not open every day, and you never know when uncle is opening the stall. Given the old age and his hurting legs, the schedule is understandably a little more erratic.
