Haute Alteration

Ridiculously priced - $60 just to downsize a denim skirt. Estimated a week for complete job. NOT WORTH!

Seamstress was helpful and kind but I did not see and feel that my alteration was worth the 400sgd I paid.. Quote from other shop was 80sgd and it looks like that only.

They did really such perfect alterations, you can't tell that my bridal dresses were massively altered. We are talking abt removing embroidery and beads and patching it back together on the top part.

I had gained a little weight and could no longer fit into my wedding gown for a wedding anniversary photoshoot. My gown was a button closure and therefore was pretty unforgiving. I was desperate for a solution since the shoot was only 2 weeks away. I found out about Haute Alterations online and thought I'd give it a try. Seemed like a great initiative to support, too! When I called, Josephine, the lady who's behind the initiative, pleasantly assured me that wedding gowns were their specialty and she had to see how much of the gown could be taken out. We made an appointment for that very day. The shop is beautiful and simple, and Josephine was very friendly. She gave her professional opinions and advice where necessary, and considered all the options available for the alteration. When she learned that she didn't have a long time to get the alterations done, with enough time for me to get the gown cleaned, she very kindly offered to steam the gown straight. She was assuring and professional, and I was confident things would turn out just right. The gown turned out perfect, exactly as I had envisioned it :) I'm so happy that I'm able to fit into it now! She removed the buttons and made it a lace-up gown, which is much more flexible. She also replaced the inner straps with elastic hooks, making it possible for me to buckle up myself instead of getting someone to help me out. I'm really happy I turned to her for help with the alterations and will definitely be recommending Haute Alterations to friends for their gowns or suits that need extra care and a truly professional touch. I've altered more than 20 clothes here. This place even made my dress that was ruined by another tailor perfectly fit! I feel Haute Alteration is very skilled and it's worth the cost if you have clothes that require complicated alterations.

I came in here to tailor 2 shirts. Paid $120 per shirt for a total of $240. By far the most expensive tailor for this kind of service. I've had mixed results with other tailors so I thought I'd give this a shot. I show up two weeks after the drop-off to pick up the shirts before a trip. I'm standing in the store with my suitcase and... the shirts aren't ready. Miscommunication? That's $40 of taxi fare wasted and I've got to rush home to grab 2 more shirts before I leave. Great. I come back a couple days later to grab the shirts. At this price point I expect 2 things. First, clear communication if something is late and second is exceptional craftsmanship. The alterations we're good but not great. I highly recommend checking out other places because the high prices this place commands does not guarantee you much. I regret having come here.

I have been altering my clothing here for years. Have tried other tailors but none of them come close. The workmanship is great, and advice is great too.

Good service delivered on time as promised. Prices do seem high but I've never altered another jacket before so, maybe that's just how much it costs.
