★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered ginseng chicken soup $5.50 in small earthen jar (traditional) & white rice $1.50... Seriously, white rice at this price, in hawker, not soft and not fragrant! Not value for money.
Soup has medium flavours but chicken is tough.

Soup felt Cantonese-isque. It was refreshing with just enough herbal taste without feeling too heavy. A note on the rice: stall drizzles homemade braised sauce on the rice, which was surprisingly fragrant and appetising.
This stall is somewhat underrated as compared to some other stalls anchoring Smith Street Food Complex. It has a rather extensive menu, will be back to try other soup varieties.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This stall has a large selection of herbal soups and this review is for the Salted Veg Duck Soup. The soups are prepared in earth jars and these soup jars are steamed inside large earth jars. The Salted Veg Duck Soup has the right level of saltiness. The duck meat was average and could be better if cooked longer to make it softer. Rice was good because of the braised gravy.
Overall, an average Salted Veg Duck Soup but taste was psychologically enhanced by the serving in a traditional chinese earth jar.
