★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food is so good! The flavors were all so deliciously authentic. I came for some skewers which come in an impressive variety of surf n turf. My absolute highlight, though, was the Agedashi Tofu and the buttered mushrooms. The portion sizes are generous. I left absolutely stuffed. Highly recommend. You even get bottomless hot green tea (the toasty genmaicha kind I think).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’ll be honest - came to this place only because I couldn’t reserve another Izakaya on a Friday for the group.
The decor was interesting and place isn’t too cramped so it started well.
The highball wasn’t strong enough, so it won’t get u high :)
The skewers were disappointing. It was cold by the time it was served. The wagyu was hard, the meat sticks all pretty stuck to the sticks. We had some mixed feelings about the beef cheese.
The fried stuffs were slightly better.
Service is slow but polite. Price is just a little on the high side compared to other izakayas.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first visit to Hinode. The garlic rice is a popular choice as I can smell the aroma of garlic rice the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The food were delicious. Garlic rice is quite salty but very flavorful.

Good prices for alcohol as we went during happy hour.
Did not get to try their skewers this visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice ambience in a rather quiet street. Parking readily available along the street. Food was very decent and the price is definitely affordable! Nice place to head out for chill drinks over a meal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Second time here. Wrote in prior to visiting but they didn't reply. Visited on a Friday night.
Our table was near to the entrance.
??: Staff was friendly and attentive, making frequent rounds.
??: Even then, they didn't bother to refill our ocha the entire 3 hrs we were there. We had to make a request each time we wanted a refill.
??: No more serving of complimentary water.
??: Staff forgotten one of our orders and our request for napkins.
??: The maki was freshly made with generous amount of ingredients.
??: Cooked food was served promptly after ordering.
??: The garlic fried rice came cold with garlic chips that had lost their crispiness. (Saw later that there were several bowls already prepped and left on serving trays. Maybe that's why they were cold!)
Overall, like the Japanese ambience but it would have been better if Japanese songs were played instead of English or Mandarin ones.
