★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Glad to have tried their #蚝煎 (#FriedOyster). Savoury and wet with big enough juicy oysters! ??? (PS: I am usually not a fan of oysters) It's sour chilli makes a good pairing to its main dish. Naise ~

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Too sweet for my liking. Carrot cake so so only, there are better ones. Don’t have the “wok hei” smell. Will not specially come back for these.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The fried oyster was delicious. Not my preferred crispy variety, but the tasty fluffy egg morsels with generous amount of plump oysters, won me over.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Happen to be in Serangoon Gardens and needed a carrot cake fix. Bought the yin yang mix. It’s not bad. Will try the oyster omelette and CKT next time

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This stall operates in two shifts, i.e., by two different groups of chef/cook. Have been patronising in the morning. Like their fried carrot cake (from S$3.50) and fried white kway Teow (from S$4).
The fried white kway teow is nice, not so oily but can be saltish at times (this explains why I gave only 3 stars). Please remember to request for less salt.
The portions served are generous.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Carrot Cake / Chye Tow Kueh (SGD $5) @ Hock Kee Fried Oyster.
.
As a regular customer over the last 10+ years, I'm glad to see them not only pull through the pandemic, but groom a 2nd-generation to gradually take the helm.
.
While more well known for their fried oyster, their skill in getting fluffy eggs with crisp edges around starch, is equally applicable to carrot cake.
.
I always get a yuan yang, with black and white versions. The former has deep sweet savoury eggy flavours, while the latter has bright savoury sweet eggy flavours. I like that the carrot cake is cut into small cubes too.
