Ichiban Sushi (Hougang Mall) - Hougang Mall

If I could give it zero star, I would. It was stated that the Order pickup time was 6:04pm and I waited for an hour before the food was ready only at 7:04pm. This is ridiculous as I watched customers entering the restaurant, orders placed and their food was even ready before mine when I ordered first. The waitress who served me did not even try to expedite my order and just tell me to wait. 15-30mins? I wouldn't have mind. But an hour? No explaination was given to me as well. This is just poor service.

2nd time posting this since the admin deleted my previous review; One of the worse experiences that I ever had. Ordered pick-up food via delivery platform (Order No. #8412) at 6.46pm on 07/09/2022. Pick up time stated 7.11pm ended up collected food at 7.50pm. This is despite numerous attempts to check with the staff on my order. The staff did not even bother trying to expedite my order and gave the standard reply - not ready ask me to just wait. I could understand if there were many diners and/or if the restaurant was crowded. However, during the whole time I watched new customers entering the restaurant, placed their orders and had their food served. The final straw was when a customer who ordered take-away at the counter at least 30 minutes later than the time I ordered collected the food ahead of my order. I questioned the staff and the staff still appeared nonchalant until the point that I requested to talk to the manager. Not to mentioned some of the food that was ready earlier was already cold by the time the rest of the order was fulfilled.

Updated jun 2021 Limited period for take away due phase2.. teriyaki chicken set. I find the chicken meat not as fresh One of the smaller branch of ichiban sushi so have to come during off peak if not expect to wait for table. Staff are friendly and fast service

All the food was prepared & tasted well! I especially enjoyed the Mentaiko Salmon Rolls ($13.90) & their mini don set ($17.90). Definitely going to revisit. It's not as chaotic as Genki Sushi (except Genki is cheaper! and a different vibe altogether) but it's 250% better than Sushi Express. Can I just add that the soft shell crab was so fricking good too!

They have a variety of Japanese food, from sushi to ramen. I ordered their curry chicken karaage set, and it was very soft and tender. Queue was very long so come earlier for dinner. Serving time was estimate around 20-30mins. Service was very good. They accept a variety of payments, Nets, VISA, Mastercard, GrabPay. I will come and dine in again.

QR code order form. Easy to use. Reasonable pricing. Comes with set meals. Children friendly. Big tables and comfy seats around the conveyor belt.

We ordered swordfish sashimi takeaway via ichiban's online platform on Tuesday 3 May 2022 to collect at 630pm. we took this away. (1) there were tough bits at the sides of 3 slices of the sashimi that could not be bitten or cut by the teeth (2) all sashimi had a fishy smell (3) the 4 slices that did not have hard bits on the side had the texture of savoury grapefruit, the sinews can be felt and it turn into mush immediately in the mouth and the sinews could not be bitten down/ chewed. Is this rotten food that you gave us? corners that cannot be consumed? Pls explain thank you.

Nice Japanese food that exceed expectations with very friendly staff. Must try their chocolate ice cream, mentaiko sushi, steamed potato and deep fried soft shell crab. The staff also quite nice by offering water and wasabi with generous amount. General pleasant experience and not too crowded.
