Best Japanese restaurant in Singapore

B	Bryan How Yong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nothing special. Just the same concept where the big company trying to get few different restaurant in the same place. Most of the restaurants are available many places and food is just average. Don't listen to those food bloggers if they say that this is highly recommended.

T	Thanh Loan Tran on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The classic tonkatsu at Saboten was ok, served steaming hot, but it may get quite unbearable to consume the final pieces as oil is sucked deep into the bread crumb batter. the meat is fresh, firm and juicy. The steamed egg turned out to be the star of the meal with its amazing umami flavor and diversed texture of silky steamed egg, corn, chicken and mysterious sauce on top. Big portion of shredded cabbage and nice matcha icecream. The salt-grilled markerel meal set at Yayoi was ok, fresh fillet but nothing so special. The side dish of 3 pieces of fried gyoza surpriced me with its veggie stuffing, quite small but good to be a tastebud kicker.
J	Jimmy EL on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried the unagi at Kagoshima Kitchen. I thought it’s a baby meal with the sorry portions. Eel meat was too thin and dry! Completely unsatisfying. Chawanmushi was in HALF a small cup and over-steamed. Taste was incredibly disappointing and to add insult to injury, meal was $28 before GST + service charge. Just infuriating going through it. Beware!
s	shzhong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had dinner at one of its brand - Nadai Fujisoba NI HACHI. Every piece of their seafood was very fresh, rice is soft and the place wasn’t too crowded (which is good especially for this Covid period). It may seem that the bowl is small, but once you finish it up, you can have a very satisfying and filling tummy. The service crews were attentive as well, refilling the hot green tea from time to time.

L	Lim TY on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried Kagoshima kitchen after seeing a youtuber’s recommendation. Either the YouTuber is not honest (only see money) or don’t know how to differentiate good food (not his fault). The tonkatsu was very so so. The salad was drenched in dressing. The rich is half a bowl and too wet and an insult to the farmer. I love rice but this is a 3/10 quality. The soup is also half bowl and taste average. The chawanmushi is overly steamed and half a cup?! Look at the bubble on to the steam egg! My friend ordered an unagi don. Omg! I was luckily that day to have not ordered that. Else, I would have cursed someone. Stole a piece from my friend and you can see how pathetic the slice of unagi is. Dry, thin and filled with bones. One stuck in between my teeth (May be not so lucky anyway). The best comes with the dessert. Dragon fruit tasteless and even sour. Better don’t give the dessert than give. As for the service, so so and staff definitely need trainings on table layout and more attending to the customers Food : 4/10 Money worth : 4/10 Service :5/10 Overall : 4/10
L	Liyin Tan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the kagoshima kitchen within Itadakimasu -Really great tonkatsu they had! Go for the limited sets if you can and you wont regret! Made a reservation but due to some miscommunications they actually got the date wrong but the management -Eddy and another young man stepped up to help set up the tables for us. They also helped to prepare a complimemtary birthday cake for the inconveniences caused which really was something that shows in their attitude. Thank you Eddy and team! However, the staff were clearly very overworked and busy during meal times and they should increase the paor of hands to improve efficiency. Food was really good, no regrets!!
