Latest tonkatsu love at Kagoshima kitchen. Friendly staff and service with good food options. Got the combi kaki fry and millefeulle tonkatsu. Juicy kaki and tender pork. Chawamushi got yuzu taste! Enjoyed the food on a Friday night to end the work week. Will come back to try out their other options.

Ate here twice already since its opening. Food was excellent both times. Pork was tender and the rice was perfectly cooked. I also tried their frozen pork for the first time when I dined in the second time, had it for hotpot and was not disappointed. It tasted even better than the fresh pork I bought, texture wise, it was softer (and also more affordable) so I’m really impressed! Never had a positive experience with frozen cuts, so I was pleased with the quality. Staff here are also very courteous and friendly! The boss is also welcoming. Met him the first time I dined in and he was very warm! Recommend the egg tonkatsu as well the daily limited set.

The best tonkatsu I’ve had in Singapore. Visited this joint after watching ghib osans vlog, and wasn’t disappointed. It might even be better than the one I had in Japan. We ordered 2 black pork set: 1) tenderloin - less fat 2) loin - slightly fatty Set comes with chawanmushi, peas and fruits. Miso soup is also awesome. For the pork, there are 3 dipping choices, choose between sea salt, mustard and demi glacΓ©. Sea salt was the best, while Demi glacΓ© tasted more Chinese than Japanese. Between the two, I’ll pick tenderloin as it is less gelat. Overall, really good katsu. Must try!

Really great tonkatsu they had! Go for the limited sets if you can and you wont regret! Made a reservation but due to some miscommunications they actually got the date wrong but the management -Eddy and another young man stepped up to help set up the tables for us. They also helped to prepare a complimemtary birthday cake for the inconveniences caused which really was something that shows in their attitude. Thank you Eddy and team! However, the staff were clearly very overworked and busy during meal times and they should increase the paor of hands to improve efficiency. Food was really good, no regrets!!

TLDR: Slightly pricey, but worth it. Tea is a bit meh though. First off, I would compare it to the likes of ootoya, saboten etc and can say that this by far has been the best midrange Japanese meal I've had in Singapore. Lion tonkatsu set was properly crispy and juicy, and the sauce they provide is not overpowering but you can dab the cutlet with some salt or mustard if you want some kick. It's flavorful enough yet does not overpowe the shabu dish I sampled also. Rice was moist and delicious, ask for refills and keep them coming. Thank me later. Kurobuta shabu was a pleasant surprise and both base soup and dip are light, tasty and refreshing. The pork was good, but the superb finisher was the meat balls they gave. Can't emphasize more to drop them into the shabu bowl at the start and end your meal with them. Total for the above is $56SGD after tax. You get a strongly recommended meal, with good basics in place. Accompanying items: green tea was a bit meh but still okay, not as strong as I preferred but still clears the head. Free flow green tea is not mentioned in the menu but just ask for it. Chawanmushi was tasty and they didn't skimp on the ingredients. Rice is worth coming back for. Pickles were nice and refreshing.

The tomato cheese tonkatsu loin was the best tonkatsu I've ever eaten! It was so soft juicy and flavorful; the breading was perfectly crispy. Their rice is top quality and so chewy. Normally I don't like rice but this was fun to eat. Chawanmushi is good. Menchi katsu is not bad. Overall very well executed .

Excellent customer service. Not a fan of pork but the tomato-cheese pork loin was beautifully done. Chawamushi was great too. There's also free flow soup, rice, and salad.
