Jianghu Hotpot 九门江湖火锅 - 277 Orchard Rd

Was digging my photos and realised i forgot to review this one. I actually really liked the steamboat here! It is quite pricey if you are going for premium but worth it if you are a seafood person. The freshness varies though, but still decent if you are going for quantity. Their hot side dishes like mantou was good too! Overall had a really pleasant experience and the presentation of the food was really good. A good place to bring your family if you want fancy good presentation! Will definitely go back again and hope the quality remains as before.

Food is overall reasonable good and so is the service speed and cleanliness. However there was a 1 for 1 promotion at that time and we(2 person) came in enquiring about it at 11am. A male staff at the counter says that it is not available for the premium or elite and gave us another menu (16.90/pax). We specifically ask if this is for the 1 for 1. He replied yes and mentioned that the dining time is 70 min and we took the deal. However when we are paying the bill after about an hour(less than 70 min), the same person insisted that what we are having is not 1 for 1 with straight face. Personally I do not mind paying about 40 dollars for 2 but misrepresentation and fake promotion spoil the dining experience.

Those who love Chinese style hotpot will like this place. The restaurant atmosphere is nice, and the food are ok with the price $29.80++ for weekend lunch. This price does not include the soup base which cost $8.80. They are relocating to Orchard Gateway from 27 June 2022 onwards. If you want to visit the one at Bedok Point, do go now

Their portions are huge esp the meat so order at most 10 dishes at the start. The meat is overall ok but quite afraid I can't tell pork from beef. And the spicy beef skewer has a full chili inside so beware. They also served all dishes at once but we didn't see it under the tray at first. Overall a scary and guilt inducing experience because we couldn't finish... but the food and service aren't bad. After GST and service charge you end up paying $40/person dinner and it's too much. GREAT: the prawn is very fresh, the glutenous rice balls is so yummy AVOID: the fish had surprise bones

Free flow buffet… elite package. Ordered an assortment of meat. A choice of 2 soup bases Mala and mushroom. Damage $120 for 2. Think there was a slight increase in buffet price. But what the hack, covid times limited to 2persons per table… Enjoy ur life while you can.

cozy place for steamboat on a rainy day.. we had their weekday lunch buffet that costs abt $20 per pax, & it included drinks, soup base, sauces & even ice cream! both the chicken soup & pork trotter soup were not bad, & our favourites were the 猪八戒 pork belly, sliced beef & 香菜猪肉丸 ?

This is my second time here. The previous time I went was a few months back. I found the elite buffet package (including GST and service charge is around $60) a little pricey and doesn’t worth the price if you compared it to those hotpot restaurants along Liang Seah Street. So I opt for the Royal Buffet which is satisfactory enough. Service staffs are polite but serving of food is slow. I previously had the mala and chicken soups. The chicken soup is pretty tasty. And the mala soup is spicy. This time round I decided to try their tomato soup and it was disappointing. It tasted like soup with ketchup sauce and also it burns easily. Therefore I do not recommend their tomato soup. Their condiments are better now as you are allowed to take it yourself. Previously the staff has to get it for you and they wouldn’t know the correct mixture amount of condiments you want. Most of their meats are tough except for their sliced beef which is tender. I enjoyed their tasty Xiao Long Bao and free flow of ice tea / water. They also give one free bottle of beer with every 3 bottles. They have a time-limit of 2 hours. But they did not try to chase us off after we exceeded the 2 hours. Overall, the experience is ok. As for hygiene-wise it could be better. Found a baby fly on the dory fish.

Good ambience. Great sauce. Meat is thin and nice to chew. Staffs could be more proactive and suggest Management to change to a more atas menu :)
