Joyce Lim Skin & Laser Clinic

I’m an expat and came from abroad. Compared to clinics in my country, services, prices and quality in joyce Lim are awful. First you have to wait for a long time to get consultation even though you have an appointment 10am, which is the earliest time in the clinic. The price is extremely high. This is because the clinic sells it’s own products that contain only small amount. Lastly considering that the clinic is a skin clinic, it’s Hygiene measures are terrible. Every time you go to the clinic, you’ll find dirty wash basin. They will ask you to wash your face here before consultation.

I’m super thankful for Dr Joyce. I’m heavily pregnant with twins and was suffering from pregnancy rashes. No gynae could help. I was recommended by my friend to go to Dr Joyce. About less than a week after the treatments by her, I’m feeling so much better and my rashes are all going away. I can’t imagine what my life would be if I hadn’t go to her. Good doctors are worth the wait.

I read about some negative comments about this clinic a few weeks ago. Nonetheless, I still went ahead to consult Dr Lim about my skin problems. Firstly, I must say that the clinic is not dirty at all as proclaimed by some patients. The nurses were professional and friendly in handling my queries and concerns. Of course, I had also waited for about an hour before I could see her. When I met Dr Lim, she was very gentle and patient to diagnose my skin conditions. She further explained in details to me, including the medications, treatments and charges to me. I have accepted her recommendations and have gone through 2 treatments. So far so good. I am not rich but as compared to what I had paid double to some GPs for treating my skin problems, she is still considered cheaper and most importantly, she has treated my conditions well. I don’t what had happened before. But I am very confident in Dr Lim. I am glad that I didn’t listen to those negative feedbacks and had made a right decision. Dr Lim, you please keep up with your good work. God blessed.

My family and I have been with Dr Joyce Lim for more than 20 years now. Dr Joyce Lim is a very experienced dermatologist with a heart of gold. My special needs son is extremely comfortable with Dr Joyce Lim at every visit for eczema. Her treatments are simple to follow/use and are effective . We are truly thankful to be under a dermatologist who cares deeply in our well being .

I have been battling a multitude of skin allergies, acne etc since 2015. Was recommended by a friend to the clinic. I like Dr Lim's no nonsense approach and through the years, there were rarely any time I had to wait more than 10-20 minutes to see the doctor. I was very impressed with how she cured me within two weeks of the most frustrating eczema and dermatitis on my scalp; which I had seen multiple doctors to no avail . Just did a laser treatment which was explained to me step by step and the clinic followed up after the treatment. It's been almost 2 weeks and I am already getting compliments on how much clearer my skin is . I am very pleased with the results, it was worth the pain.

I had encountered an unscrupulous aesthetic doctor whom has almost ruin my face. Luckily I went to Dr Joyce for the most needed help and she has solved all the issues within 2 months. She helped to calmed my agitated, extreme sensitive skin due to excessive lasers. Dr Joyce does not do small talks, she is direct to the issue and give me so much assurance that she is taking care of my problem. The clinic also not pushing you into signing any packages like others. In fact, she discouraged me from doing it. When my face condition stabilised and I wanted to try laser with her, she told me to try the effect once or twice before deciding I really like it. Don’t waste money into signing a package which I might not like it. She is kind, caring and to the point. I like a doctor like her whom I can entrust my face to. Pros: - The doctor is actually very knowledgeable and her treatment plans work. Do note that her methods do take time - sometimes even months - but then again, no issues can be fixed overnight! - She often offers (relatively cheaper) medications/creams to try first instead of pushing you to sign expensive laser packages - Honest in her opinions. She will NOT recommend something that won't work just for the sake of money. Cons: - The clinic is always flooding in patients and often you will be delayed despite having an appointment. Try not to make any plans after the appointment. Usually I leave the day free when I'm visiting here but for busy people this can be very problematic. - She makes barely any, if not, small talks to "ease" the patient. Straight to the point, straight to the answer. If you expected a friendly conversation it may not go as planned. But personally I prefer a doctor who would just dive straight in rather than waste time so again, a matter of preference. - Quite expensive. Even amongst private dermatologists, her charge on procedures and medications are quite high. If you're restrained on time and financial resources I'd say this clinic isn't the best option.

I visited here with my daughter several time. She might be famous thus even we booked always needed to wait around 20-30 min but one day even we were waiting more than 1hour still we were requested to wait. She was busy with another person’s treatment and we were just left. I think for this clinic we cannot expect “book” works well. The cream (for acne), it was not the cheap. My daughter said it didn’t work for her but I believe it depends on the type of skin, persons, too. Staffs were all kind, good. I don’t recommend here for busy persons. You should consider 2h time slot even actual time to see the doctor is just 5-10min. We indeed didn’t have good experiences honestly speaking however since I saw this clinic was always busy, she should be appreciated by many persons still.
