Relatively large dumpling noodles serving for price conscious customers ($3). Chili has a nice spicy bite. Main deterrent is noodles; soft and mushy (overcooked), perhaps it’s my one off experience hence the lower rating. Dumplings ingredients are pork and fungi, ok non memorable.

Saw the usual queue. Decided to join the queue, one day, when it was shorter. Was disappointed. Maybe, was comparing it with Kok Kee, which is different, wetter. Felt that it was too dry. Left half a portion of the noodles, even though I ordered a regular serving with chilli. Requested for more wanton. Did not find the wanton mee, special enough, to queue for. Saw a customer eating a dark soy sauced version. Have not tried it.

Attracted by longest queue in FC with 2 other wonton mee stalls, tested basic $3 fried wonton mee: - nicely cooked springy noodles - condiments (espy. chilli) lack punch ? - char-siew just the usual - wontons were fully packed with minced port ?????? - soup was refreshing & tasty. Will be back to explore attention grasping fried wonton & sui-jiao.

Alway the longest queue whenever I dine in at Haig road hawker centre. Decided to give this place a try this time round. I queued for almost 20 mins before it was my turn. Noodle starts from SGD$3 onwards and I had theirs fried wanton noodle. Noodle was springy and was well coated with the sauce. Fried wanton was equally delicious as well.

Kiat Huat 吉發 Wanton mee ? Food wise: Can understand why there was usually a long queue for this stall. The noodles were Q and coated with the fragrance of Hae Bee Hiam(Crispy Fried Shrimps 虾米香), the moment where one stirs the noodles can already smell it. It's good! The char siew was tender and tasty too, it had the roast char siew taste too! The wantons were pretty big also, they were generous about the fillings and the number of wantons! I counted 4 here, generous! And most importantly it was delicious! ✨ Ambience wise: Hawker centre! ?? Service wise: Great! ? Price wise: $3! Such goodies at a low cost! Worth it!

There were a few noodle stall under the same roof at Haig Road Market & Food Centre. However, I noticed that Kiat Huat is the one with a perpetual queue whenever I visit the food centre. I decided to try them out to see if they are better than the others since they draw a bigger crowd in front of their stall. Fried Wanton Noodle- Dry ($3) + Fried Dumpling 2pcs ($1.20) I ordered the wanton noodle (dry) which came with a generous mound of noodle, char siew, chye sim andI request for all of my wantons to be fried, they served a total of 4 pieces. They serve thicker-than-usual mee kia but I prefer the normal skinny mee kia because I find that it have a flour-y smell to it. As for the concoction of sauce, I am not quite sure what goes into it but it is not savory enough for my liking and the chili is not the usual sambal. However, I must say I like their fried wantons a lot more. I also liked their fried dumpling but I think it could be bigger and juicier for the price. It contained mushrooms, quite abit of ingredient & I think I ate some vermicelli. It was really nice or maybe I was really hungry that I did not take a nice photo of the interior of the fried dumpling. They did not bother plating the dish when they serve either. I would try other stalls before trying this again, as it is not that amazing in my opinion, but worth the price for the default wanton noodle.

Wanton Noodles. Sometimes when I have no idea what to eat and I spot a decent queue at a hawker store, my legs will just take me to the end of that said queue. The noodles served here are egg noodles which means they are the thicker than the usual mee kia (thin yellow noodles). Their char siew unfortunately is really just red dye meat. Good for succulent wanton and if you are into yellow noodles.

One of the best old-school wanton noodles in the East. Well-balanced flavours and smooth yet springy noodles makes Kian Huat Wanton Noodles a legend in its own right. The only con is the char siew, which is slightly hard, but it works beautifully for old-school taste lovers. Highly recommended but beware the queue!
