Kimage Hair Salon (Kovan) - 204 Hougang Street 21

Visited Kimage on 28/09/2020 around 4pm. Was walking around Kovan to buy dinner and stumbled upon the entrance of the salon, it looks professional and clean. Decided to have a hair cut here as I see that there is only one client inside. The stylist whom approached me (also did my hair service) is Roy Chen. He introduced me to the shop's price and welcomed me in to have my hair washed before cutting. Hair wash is good, not the 2 mins wash you get in normal salon (I am comparing to the heartland areas since this is indeed in the heartland, under a HDB). Shampoo for awhile then to conditioner, after that I think he applied something as I smelled it, but not confirm. On to the hair cut, he asked me what I want and I describe to him (I am not really fussy about hair cut as long as it fits my face shape and neat, very important). He cut very gently and neatly (hopefully I get this type of treatment even when the salon is busy too!). As my scalp is oily (I know), he asked if I wanted to do a treatment, I rejected him as I am on my way home for dinner and also, I do not usually do treatment or other services on 1st visit (but might do treatment in the future as I am pleased with my first experience). In the end, the hair cut was just what I wanted, and most importantly, it is very neat and clean - I find that some salons' stylists cannot do short hair well for my "boom out" hair, but he is alright as my hair did come down flatly on the side. After the entire cut, he washed my hair again (this time with just water), very good service from Roy. All-in-all I am very pleased with Roy, and I have taken his name card and happily registered my info to Kimage's system so I can do another booking in the future. PS. I am very pleased that Roy cut my hair in peace without any hard-selling or too many words. I was able to fall asleep (partly due to the Mandopop instrument music playing) and wake up to a spanking good hair. Overall, the multiple good reviews on this particular stylist is a testament to his ability to service & cater to his visitors/clients' needs well.

Been visiting Kimage at kovan rather frequently for their color plus cut promo. The hairstylist, Roy, is very detail and great at what he’s doing!

Had a haircut there for $40 very bad cutting skills. Was told my hair was thick and advice to layer it. Hair stylist used the comb looking scissors and randomly stuffing it into my head and snipping away my hair don’t even have any professional technique to layer my hair like other similar standard hair salon. End up my hair look so untidy it was so spiky and it look like cheap haircut you can get from snip avenue for $3.80 instead

honestly i was going to let this issue slide but when i chanced upon an uneven strand of hair after leaving the salon, my displeasure increased. i had hair that was chest length requested for a cut just above the shoulder, furthermore i even showed her a picture of the haircut i wanted. she just took a quick glance at the picture, said ok and proceeded. before she cut my hair, she even told me that she wouldn’t cut it that short because my hair was curly and that it would curl up once i washed my hair then i said ok. to my horror she chopped off more than she should and the end result was a one length bob cut. i would have achieved the same exact haircut from a $5 hair salon. honestly it was a bad experience, not worth for the price paid and would definitely not revisit

I have been a long time customer of Kimage Hair Salon in Kovan. Ms Ally has been my hairstylist for many years. I like the way she trims, style & colour my hair. I always trust her to do the best for me. She is very professional, honest & upfront about the charges incurred. She will patiently explained them to me. During Covid lockdown, she advised me not to sign up for additional package, as I might not have the time to complete before expiry (hope the company will not penalised her for her concern for her customers). Her integrity really impressed me, for which I am very grateful. Thank you Ally ?. Keep it up! ?

Salon has a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Clean and comfortable with knowledgeable professionals. Celeste is a professional who does her job well. Builds rapport with her client by respecting their feelings and making sure that they are heard and concerns or questions answered before she works on your hair. She is not pushy, refrains from hard-selling, friendly and does her best to understand her clients need and respects their wishes.

Had visited quite a number of hair salons and asked about my hair. Because my hair was highlighted and most of the salon have no confident to do my hair. What they can asked me to do is the special hair treatment which the cost was extremely high. Until I visited Kimage. Was served by Roy. He is a very professional hairstylist. Very friendly and patient. I am great that he cut and do some reborn for me. I like it very much. I will strongly recommend my friends there. Keep it up Roy!??

First time trying this salon. I really liked the atmosphere, it feels clean and premium. Hairstylist, Roy is also really good, I liked my haircut. His hands were really light that I didn't feel any discomfort during my hair treatment unlike other salon's I've been to where they just pull your hair carelessly. ? will surely comeback next time!
