When your child is sick the last thing you want is an inhospitable and unhelpful environment. The hospital manages to do just that. Apart from maintaining the basics of providing medicine and doctor visits, there is a complete lack of consideration to the patient and those with the patient in this case a 14 month old with covid. The 2 days in the hospital felt like jail with nurses not even providing basic help like administering medicine, looking over the child while I could get a loo break and making every ask feel like a big favour. I gave 1 star as they at least gave the right medicines and that's it.

I chose KKH to deliver my baby as my gynecologist was there. And so this led for all my checkups to be at KKH, and then eventually delivered the baby there. Would like to say a big thank you to all the nurses that took care of my baby in the ICU, they all made such an effort even though I could tell they were understaffed. All his operations & procedures the doctors explained everything to us very carefully, I would honestly say they are much more equipped with technology compared to a private hospital. Our social worker was also very sweet towards our situation & helped my husband & I a lot. Yes waiting time at the pediatrician area can be a bit long, but other than that my whole experience so far with this hospital has been great (definitely more pros than cons ?).

Terrible system and billing. 1st baby the doctor broke my collarbone. Nothing was done, no apologies given. Although was needed, as my baby is big, I accept that. However they make you pay full amount for physiotherapy. treatment for the broken collarbone is not cheap. 2nd baby they made me wait more than 1 hour to see the doctor. Other patients who came after me go in to see doctor first. Multiple times not just once. Rough handling of my newborn by a few nurses when feeding. One even questioned me when I was just looking on at my newborn just 1 day old while she handle my baby roughly and made her choke on milk 2 times while rushing to feed her. My wife told me another nurse made baby choke 3 times. Also a nurse asked my wife to wear a mask while hospitalized at night. Whole day no doctor/nurse ask her to wear mask only this nurse. She made up her own rules? How to rest and sleep while wearing mask 24 hours. Whole ward B1 class only my wife, nobody else. And the price is not cheap. $400+ see doctor once and ultrasound only. Go Thomson medical/Mount E better, save the headaches and similar pricing.

Although this is a government hospital with slightly dated systems it is one of the best when it comes to caring for complex cases where patients have an issue out of the ordinary. My wife decided to chose a specialist here who took amazing care of us and was able to intervene and get our baby out in difficult circumstances their NICU is also really well equipped and the doctors don’t do anything unnecessarily. The wait time for specialists is a lot better when compared to Thomson Medical where we waited for hours to meet the doctor.

Was at the B1 day surgery yesterday (7/7) for polyps removal. The wait was long but the outstanding work done by the staff far outweigh the tiring waiting time. (but i had it easy as compared to my poor boyfriend who waited from 8am-4pm on the hospital ground for me haha. Should have sent him home, we both thought it might be fast enough. Inexperienced with hospitals :D) The nurses and doctors were really kind and understanding. Throughout the few hours, i felt really taken care of and it was comforting for me as i have really bad social anxiety and it was the first time i had a surgery in hospital settings. The nurses and Anesthesiologist at the OT level were amazing too. They were so kind and gave me encouraging words prior to the operation and tried to make me feel safe and acknowledged my discomfort and stress without me having to voice it out. One of them also explained to me in details about what to expect even up to the point where i was in the OT and continued to allay my anxiety in soothing voice (thank you so much, it does help). Even while in the recovery room, it seemed that i have a bad bout with the anesthesia, since i was really nauseous, had the chills and in severe pain. But i was too weak to really voice out, yet they were quick to notice and gave me the appropriate care and medications, i was even tucked in fully with the blanket laying down after my dry heaving sessions. I am really appreciative of their efforts in the midst of being busy since there were many patients. But they never once lose their patience and i honestly felt their strong concern for me and the other patients. I'm sorry that i didn't catch their names and was unable to fully give them my gratitude individually, but just wanted them to know that i was glad they were there and being so empathetic and hope they have a happy, fruitful life.

I suggest to visit nearby clinics rather going here.. atleast we should know when we would get our turn… I understand kid with critical conditions need attention first but you can also collect money later after treating / consultation.. I just went because it’s PH/Sunday and will not do that mistake again

I came early today at 4:08pm and did my usual routine check up like height & weight blood pressure at 4:11pm & next is waiting for the doctor. I had appointment today for my regular checkup doctor 4:25pm Room 5... but waited for more than 30 mins & today especially very little patients not crowded at all but yet we waited for so long.... despite having so many feedbacks and complaints from patients but they have never even improved or changed at all... other pruvate clinics at least improved.... but i do not see the GOV hospital doing it....... like totally for more than 5-6years no changed have been coming to this hospital since i was a kid. Is not like i want to come here..... verydisapointed it the services here... no changes.. Despite having an appointment, but not giving us the exact seeing the doctor

As a foreigner, who specifically come to sgp for health services, I normally go to private hospital like MT. E & Gleneagles. But for children people have said KK is the best. And this is my 1st experience in KK. My daughter did brain angiogram recently. For 2 days stay in 1 bedded room, it cost SGD 6k++. Overall the doctors do their job very well & professionally. For other services such as insurance claim, Imaging departments, billings etc are definitely unsatisfactory and slow. When I arrived at the admission I've requested for 1 single bedded but then it was full. I was told during school holidays (june) the hospitals are very busy. I was assigned to 6 bedded room. OMG. For foreigner who don't get any subsidise from government, the difference of estimated overall cost for staying in 1 bedded & 4 bedded is only SGD 100 (for instance they quoted SGD 6600 vs SGD 6500). My insurance cover for 1 beeded and should I pay by myself, I would still choose 1 bedded cause it doesn't make much different since you already spent that much. Luckily at the end I managed to get 1 bedded room. For insurance claim form completion it can take up to 4-6 wks (SGD 180/report) & and their payment options mostly chater for locals. When you are overseas and they expect you to pay using axs/dbsibanking just doesn't make sense. In private, doctors will fill in the form for you for Free on same/next day. For billings, you only get interim bill when you get discharged. You won't get the final bills until the next few days and they will mailed it to the registered address. Remember, for insurance claim we need the original bill. And this just doesn't help and make the process longer. In the Imaging departments, I tried to collect my results and get the queue no. But when I entered the patient id, it didn't work and there was message I should get assistance. But everyone there were so busy. There's no information/assistance desk. It's just confusing. Doctors are also not in the clinic everyday. Getting appointments confirmed could take up to days. I'm definitely happy with the doctors but not with other services.
