Tucked at a corner of Chinatown Complex Hawker Centre is another winner of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore 2021 winner. Lian He Ben Ji Claypot Rice serves up claypot rice every evening and seeing the tables in the area of the stall, the popularity of the stall is evident. Ordering ahead of time helped to save some time and on arrival, payment was made and the table number was given. A hot claypot of rice was soon served. Digging into the claypot, the fragrance was all there was to show, as the food was found to be a tad not as flavourful. A side dish of vegetables was ordered too but it was found to be too salty. Alas, another award winner of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore 2021 winner not living up to the award. General Verdict: Acceptable claypot rice that somehow got a Michelin Bib Gourmand award Queue Situation: Order ahead to save time. Otherwise, wait time can be 30 mins to 1 hour. Price: SG$5 and up Payment Mode: Cash Only

Good aunthentic claypot rice, very nice owners, just a warning that the fish can be very salty for those who don't like it! Scraping the hard bits at the bottom is a must!

Claypot rice with charcoal flavor was different to taste/try. Chicken cooked with it tasted delicious. Chicken with bone made overall experience bad. Full 5 star if boneless.

Went to try with all the acclaim and good reviews in mind, but sadly it didn't live up to the hype, especially so with the >2h wait (learnt about the advance ordering system after which also didn't make that much sense to me). For $10, the ingredients weren't all that generous, and vegetables were sorely lacking. Heard that they serve a side of spring onion but didn't get it (perhaps it ran out? ). Dark soy sauce was not that flavourful or fragrant, and rice was on the drier and chalkier side though it made for pretty good socarrat. Lup cheong was OK, but chicken breast meat was abit dry and the meat wasn't even marinated???? On a whole, the claypot rice tasted quite one-track and flat. Had better claypot rice elsewhere, gonna stick to those. Suggest to skip the long wait; there are yummier things to try at Chinatown Complex.

Hands down the best claypot rice. Perfect balance of smokiness, umami and fragrance. Love the hardened rice crackers formed at the bottom of the pot. We called ahead to order, and therefore skipped the hour long waiting time. However, the pot came lukewarm, not as pipping hot as I expected them to be. Oh, their value for money soup. Genuine ingredients, long hours of double boiling. Shiok!

One of the better choice claypot rice in Singapore. Good value for portion to price. Ingredients good mix and value with green vegetables added, smells great too. Soups value for money as add on.

Long tome never came here. Think they change the supplier for the rice so the texture is different. They kept the same price for many year. It is always fresh cook therefore it is better to preorder before going there as it take at least 40min.

Regular to this stall, their business is always so good, recommend to call before you go. First time having take away from this stall and the Claypot rice taste as good as dining in.
