β β β β β The duck here truly lives up to its name: it's really fat, like, very very fatty. The duck dish is a little too fatty for my liking in fact, with the extra oil in the source. It still tastes nice with tender meat in good seasoning and crispy skin, and the dipping sauces are good too.
Their side dishes such as buns and dim sum are really good, everything is good. We love the black pepper bun and pandan snow custard bun (both are slightly sweet, not savoury). The prawn fritter was tasty too. Service was excellent, all dishes were served very fast, the staff were attentive and nice.

β β β β β Honest feedback:
Service is very slow. There's hardly anyone in the restaurant and yet it takes so long to get a seat, and there's practically no one in sight to take orders. The kitchen however is fast in preparing the food.
Their bao, especially the liu sha bao is perpetually out of stock, even before lunch time, like 11am plus.
The food is nice, but you'd have to have to manage your expectation of service standard and be prepared that what you want to order may not be available.
The duck is nice, obviously, as is most of the food. I don't mind coming back as the food is good, but their management ought to review the service quality.

β β β β β Beside the roasted duck being medicore, other stuff on the menu are worse off than kopitiam standards. Nothing much to say but totally not worth the restaurant price tag

β β β β β Came on a Weds for lunch and the restaurant was pretty empty. Ordered the set for 2 and added on a soup of the day, siuyok, and egg noodles with prawn roe. Overall was quite an enjoyable meal. The soup and duck was really good. Siuyok tasted stale, spinach could be more flavorful.

β β β β β At PLQ basement 2, thereβs 2 duck specialty restaurants, which is one too many.
Decided to try the 2 person set at London Fat Duck at $39,90++
We ordered the Char Siew instead of duck & was a mistake. The char siew meat was dry & not moist at all with little fat. If not for the gravy, the char siew would have been inedible, not even comparable to a hawker stall. The soup of the day at additional $5.90, the spinach with century eggs & the dumplings in vinegar were the saving grace. These 3 dishes were really good.
Lesson learnt, just order duck from a specialty store & never try their other meats.

β β β β β Ordered a few signature dishes. The London Roast Duck (half portion) have little meat though it is really fat haha. A whole duck is recommended for larger group. Both the duck and the pork belly "Siew Bak" have crispy skin. Homemade Spinach Tofu - the spinach has been blended into the tofu such that it is green and tasted good. Also commendable is the Sichuan Spicy Crispy Chicken, meatier chunks unlike some other restaurant where they are smaller bite size. Stir-Fried Squid with Garlic Butter is just cooked until tender. The sambal chilli is surprisingly fragrant and spicy though oily. Note that the drink options are quite expensive.

β β β β β Had a great time at London Fat Duck at PLQ.
Went around lunchtime close to 1pm. There wasnβt a queue so was seated fairly quickly after writing my orders on an order slip and handing it to the service staff.
Will be mentioning some dishes in this review:
Specialty roasted duck (half) - Should be enough to feed 4pax. Delicious but very fatty, this is up to personal preference but I felt that the meat was a bit too fat for me to chew through.
Roast Pork - Quite alright, but the duck is the star here
My personal favorites (apart from the roast pork and duck) are the long beans with dried shrimp, calamari with garlic, radish cake and the prawn rolls.
Food is a lil bit on the pricier side, but I had a really good time with both the food and the service at London fat duck. Recommended!

β β β β β Excellent food and variety! Brought my aunties here for Motherβs Day celebration and we ordered the 6 Pax Menu. The duck is exceptionally good, my aunts sang praises and are very pleased with everything including staff service. We will definitely come back again for the duck. The glutinous rice is also very innovative as itβs paired with bakkwa and Iβve never thought of this ??. Fish on the other hand is not as good but itβs acceptable :)
